We're having the slate on our 125 year old church steeple replaced. Today several of us from the church went up to the top of the scaffolding. The first picture is me (on left) and another guy still at the top before coming down. It's taken by his wife from their apartment about a half mile away. The second picture is me touching the top of the weathervane.

Does that serve as a lightening rod too? Just wondering, it looks like the ones that were on my Grandfathers farm house, built in the very early part of the 1900's.

Yes, it does serve as a lightening rod ... and about 3 years ago it took a direct hit that blew out our whole fire & security alarm and phone and computer system.

And here you are putting your finger on it, what if a lightning bolt would have struck about that time, looks durn cloudy to me.

Be careful up there RevRay. I know you enjoy being close to God, but falling from there could bring you a whole lot closer than you might want to be. We kinda like having you around. You're a steadying influence.
