I shot my CW45 for the first time today and I am very impressed with the pistols performance. I shot 150 rounds of my standard 200 grain cast semi wadcutter pushed by 4.7 gr. WW231 I also shot another 100 rounds of 230 gr.Truncated lead bullets same powder charge. There was 4 FTF and that was only when I wasn't using the factory mag:D I was shooting at 10 yards at first with very satisfying results the first 50 rounds were all within a 8 inch target. I then moved back to 15 yards and was still able to keep the rest of the shots in the B and C zone in an IPSC target. That isn't braggin rights but I felt pretty good since this is the only striker fired pistol I own and the first time out with a Kahr. I will probably take it out for another couple sessions before I start packing it as my CCW.
I went out with some concerns because of the lead reloads and the stiff recoil spring, but all of my ammo is loaded to make major caliber and the gun functioned fine and there was no leading issues with the barrel.
The CW45 is a keeper:cool:

Excellent range report. My CW45 leaded using my cast load, but I use straight wheel weights in the Lyman 200gr. SWC mold.

Thanks pbagley,
I also use wheel weights and I water quench the ingots and let them set for a couple weeks before putting them in the 20lb. pot and making bullets. I also make my own bullet lube from beeswax, parafin wax, and alox and that combo has been been great in my other 45's and 9MM's. I got the formula from the "Cast Boolit" forum.I hope its not taboo:eek: to mention another site but there is a buttload of great info there for casters and reloaders.

I took my CW45 out for the second time this morning and put another 200 rounds of my reloads through it.
It ran perfectly with zero malfunctions and I am getting used to the Kahr trigger pull.
I took some pics of the target but until I get a few more post' under my belt Y'all will have to wait to make fun of my lack of marksmanship:eek:.
