Sell it or hold on to it?

TI bought an older PM9 (2006) recently . It had been barely used when I got it. After breaking it in, I noticed one of the polymer rail guides had some scratching or gouging and the slide and frame did not meet perfectly flush at the rear. The frame overlaps the slide about 1/16 of an inch.

It functions fine and is extremely accurate. Folks here and Ian at Kahr said not to worry and just enjoy it.

I still ordered a new one which arrives in a couple of days. In the meantime, i have been shooting the hell out of the old one and it really is fine. No problems.

I had plans to sell it after the new one gets here and I break it in. But now I'm having second thoughts.

Some members seem to treasure these "blunt nose" pistols. Why is that?

Should I hang onto it? Would you keep it or sell it and why?

I got the new one at a hell of a good price and know I can sell it NIB at a profit.

There's a certain member here, who loves anything with a blunt nose.............he can tell you why to keep the blunt nose. You may have difficulty understanding it, though.

Unless you want 2, I'd keep the one you know is reliable.

I am a FNG when it comes to the Kahr line here but I also have been buying and selling guns for 40 plus years most of them I don't miss. But I have kicked myself in the a#@ over some of them that I can't get back. At this time I only have a CW45 but there will probably be a PM9 in the near future. Back to the post question, If I were you I would keep the reliable, accurate older model and break in the new one and have a spare in case your original needs repair.

What you are calling polymer rails are only functional as guides when re-installing the slide, and dust covers.
You can expect to experience that same galling/shaving condition on your new gun when you shoot it, as we all have.

If its reliable I'd keep it at least for the time being. If the new one proves reliable after run in, then you can make your choice based on which one you like more. You are sure to have a favorite.

I did read your post where you mention the galling and that Ian and others had mentioned it...but you never stated that you had excepted this explanation;).

You can't have too many carry pistols. If you ever have to use one, the cops will take it and you'll be without it for a LONG time. They're funny like that, but you might need an EDC pretty quick if you P.O'd some BG's buds.
