Here we go with the opinions on sights. For what it is worth....
I have night sights on my PM40. They are OK and I have had no problems with them. I will probably leave them alone. However, I put a Dawson FO front sight on my two S&W M&P's with a novak style flat black rear sight on the rear. Best set up ever....for me. My eye picks up the front sight immediately and centers it in the flat black rear sight. Very fast. Very durable. Some guys will claim that the FO sight is not durable for carry. I disagree. I feel the Dawson FO front sight is so well engineered that it is the way to go for fast target acquisition. That's the way I'll go with my PM when the night sights fail. Besides, the FO is so easy to change that it is silly to discuss it as a problem. If it is broken during carry, the Dawson still has the metal frame to use for sight until the FO is replaced. I've not broken one yet. JMO.
