P380 extractor

I have a question about the extractor on my P380. I have always gotten a lot of BTF with my P380 so I finally started to look into the extraction mechanisms to see if there was anything amiss. In my very limited experience with extractors I have learned that a proper extractor should hold the round against the breach face of the slide. My P380 does not do that and I was just wondering if that is normal with Kahr pistols or the P380 in general. Here is what my P380 looks like with a round captured by the extractor.

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

The extractor of my P380 hold the case rim squarely and securely with no gap at the breech face. I'd say that yours has a problem. Send the picture to Kahr Service for confirmation.

Jay recommends I send it into the factory for inspection. I don't really like to do that since I believe it should only involve a part replacement and I carry this P380 everyday. I guess when I get back from vacation I will send it to the mother ship.

if they send u a prepaid pick up, indeed let them have the entire gun. Theyt aded it, they should fix it right. I would like to thiink u have a baqd extractor but again we don't know that it could not be a bad slide in that area. Send it back, do it right, regain ur confindence that way.. U took a damn good photo by the way. sure saves alot of time when u do that to, they can see right off if it is OK or not.
