It's 10 inches. It probably looks big because there's a 6 inch to the left and I'm closer to the 10.
I got a 6, 8 & 10. I like the 10 inch for doing drills of drawing and shooting quick.

Better make it a 6", 8", 10" and a 56" in case Jocko ever comes over to shoot with ya. Don't want him to feel bad ya know.

Yes, you gotta be careful shooting steel.
One of the keys is to hang it instead of attaching it to something. The bottom of the target should also be angled back. That way the bullet goes down and back.
You also have to be at the correct distance. That guy looked way too close shooting with a rifle.

A fellow I used to work with had an aluminum roller mounted on a steel shaft via bearings and aluminum spoked end caps. The bearings had seized and he wanted to salvage the roller. Easiest way was to take his rifle and shoot out the aluminum spokes holding the roller to the bearings.
Missed the spoke, hit the end of he 1.5" steel shaft.
Next stop - the ER to get the shrapnel out of his arm and chest and the arm of his son who was standing next to him.

(One of those "hold my beer and watch this" events)

One of my retired LE buddies had steel hanging at his house. He has had jacketed bullets bounce back and hit him and his house. I shot with him once at his house. Never again. I don't believe he has it hung correctly. We shoot some steel at IDPA, but it is intended to fall and give with the shot. I never see any return fire, so I feel comfortable. Watch yourself shooting steel and if you see any return fire, STOP and adjust things.
