I purchased a locking metal cabinet awhile back to store ammo in. When I gathered all the ammo from various storage places into one area, I was surprised how well I had done staying stocked through the shortage.
Today I put some shelves in it and was able to put ammo in it in an organized way. I can see what and how much of each type I have. Very nice.
I just need to run across a bit more .22
1. pictures or it didn't happen
2. I got an emergency supply of .22's but....except for WallyWorld, everyone is scalping 'em it seems. What should be a $19.99 brick is going for $39.99. The 24.99 premium bricks.... $79.99, when you can get 'em. I saw a case of 1000 Stinger's the other day, only $499.99 for it. Twenty-twos are still rediculous.

Dang sure need to get a cabinet for my ammo. what kind of cabinet did you get and if I might ask, why that one? all my ammo is scattered throughout the house, with the biggest clutch of it stacked up on the top of the gun safe. Never was an issue till the Grandson turned three and started asking "Grandpa, what's in those boxes..."
Saturday, when the wife and Daughter wanted to go exploring the "craft mall" in Keller TX, the Son-in-law and I ducked it with a trip to the nearby Cabelas. It was nice to see Plenty of every type of ammo on the shelves and I picked up a 100 round boxes of 9mm,.38 and 45acp FMJ target, just cause I could.
NO .22 though, even if you were buying a rimfire gun.
This (shortage) too shall pass... but it needs to hurry up!

I just picked up one of the steel, key locking cabinets at WalMart. I think it is one they say is sized for 10 long guns or something. I added two shelves and bolted it to the wall. It already came with an upper shelf.
I used to have a couple of full sized, locking cabinets with shelves for tool storage, etc. They were about the size of a refrigerator. But, I gave them away. One of those would have been perfect, since what I bought is already about 80% full.

Well if I don't say it, how do you know I'm getting better at this PC stuff? I mean I said chest, that's more PC that teets, or mammary glands right.
I mean it's like I gave it some though ya know.

That's the beauty of reloading. Ammo is meant to be made and shot up, not stored.
(That said, I admit to having a new "ported" 300 Win Mag barrel for my TC encore that has 3 boxes of ammo waiting to be sighted in....for the past 3 yrs or so. Likewise, my 30.06 sits idle with a few boxes of ammo gathering dust to. I simply have not had any rifle hunts scheduled for them, so there they sit...waiting for me....ammo being stored....Hmmmmm some ammo is meant to be stored I guess...LOL).
