Just a heads up - Palmetto has D&H 30rd mags for 79.99 per ten, shipped. Thats a pretty sweet deal. I think it lasts until the end of today (Sunday)

Was able to get an Aimpoint PRO from them for $385 from them as well (using a $40 coupon). Not really a sale they're having, its basically a buck under the usual street (MAP) pricing. Shipping was realistic at $8.50 though.

I've been jones'n for an Aimpoint for a long time, either feature confusion and/or price at the time has held me back. The PRO has the best of the most sought after features, comes with a mount (preattached, but you can remove it if you want a better one), and is pretty much set to go out of the box, so..... (gulp) I yanked the trigger on it, after getting the news that one of my customers came through with a huge sale for me.

Aimpoint PRO good choice!
I got mine from PSA also last fall during a sale and I really like it.
I love the fact that I can leave it turned on 24/7 and the battery will last 3 yrs! And that you can leave both lens caps shut and still see the dot on your target. It is on my SHTF AR that I keep bedside so it is always ready.
I use the included mount which is rather nice IMO.(knob is a little large only small complaint I can think of)
FYI, When you get it, turn the eye piece cover so if you flip it open it won't hit the battery housing and put a mark in the clear lens.

Don't have any remorse about Aimpoint. I have their products on most of my long rifles. I have one of their products on my AR. The objective lens came loose during a training session. I sent them an email, and was told to call them. I immediately thought that here we go with a runaround. As you know their stuff is $$. I told the guy on the phone what I need their optic for and how I would not trust this optic with my life, he asked me a few questions and said that he sending me a replacement OVERNIGHT and will trust that I will send the defective one back. He also told me to take all the knobs and gaskets off the old one so I have spares for the new one. Unbelievable service......THAT and a great functional, durable optic is what you pay for. Top notch. Wish it was American made.

Whew, good to know about the Aimpoint stuff!

I have had a bunch of ..."hope I did the right thing".... thanks for the good words.

Glad to hear about the good service too!

Can you actually turn it off, or do you put the battery in, and it runs for three years before a change? I guess it doesn't matter?

There's also a Geissele G2s inbound. They're right. Once you get one, your hooked. Like 'taterchips.

Yes you can turn it off. It has a rotary switch with I think 9 increasingly brighter settings, and you just turn it all the way down to off. The first like 5 positions are for night vision so it isn't visible till you get up to the higher settings. I leave mine on 7.

My Aimpoint says you can run the optic on for like 100 million years without running down the battery. That isn't true. A few days with it on a low setting required a battery change. I turn it off all the time and leave the battery in. I would have liked the optic on all the time though. Maybe I should try again? Maybe something was wrong with the old one?

Have one on my shotgun. Other red dots fell apart from the recoil after some serious time/rounds. So Far the Aimpoint keeps on going. Yeah I like their stuff. You did good getting one.

Er..... extremely short battery drain is something warned about on the Aimpoint website.

The 16 rules to avoid being fooled by counterfeit/copies products

3. Is the Aimpoint product sold without the original package and without the original user manual? If the answer is “yes”, your chances of purchasing counterfeits is greatly increased.

4.** Is the price for the Aimpoint product too good to be true?* If the deal looks too good to be true, it probably is and you should be extremely wary.

5.** Does the seller explain his willingness to part with the product at a bargain-basement price by claiming that he "won the product” in a tournament or raffle, or that they were "a gift” that he doesn’t need? Sellers of counterfeit Aimpoint products on the Internet often use these and other reasons to deceive their victims.

6.** Does the product have a serial number and article number engraved on the side (for sights) or base (for 3X magnifiers)? If the answer is "no," this sight is a counterfeit.* If the answer is "yes," but the sight or magnifier is being offered with other warning signs in this bulletin (such as a suspiciously low price), be cautious.* Some counterfeiters are putting bogus serial numbers on products. If you have any hesitation, contact your authorized dealer or Aimpoint Customer Service. Remember, merely because a product has a serial number does not mean that it is authentic.

13.** *Have the sight been inspected by an authorized Aimpoint dealer, or compared to authentic Aimpoint products in a side-by-side comparison? If you have access to the product before purchase, don’t fail to do this. Most counterfeits become obvious in a side-by-side comparison.

14.** *If you have any doubt about the authenticity of an Aimpoint product, do not purchase! Contact Aimpoint Customer Service for assistance additional information regarding authorized Dealers.

You should definitely try again, use a fresh battery so you know that's not the issue.

I have pretty much left my PRO turned on continuously since last Sept. when I got it. It is still just as bright as the first day I turned it on.
The ability to let it on 24/7 for years was one of the biggest selling points for me when deciding on which RDS to buy.

BTW, Setting 7 on the PRO is the setting Aimpoint specifies for the 3 yr battery life rating.

ok my PRO is at 7 clicks but I count only 9 clicks from the lowest setting to max. I thought there were 10. I'll turn on my H1 later today when it is more bright out to see if they 7 or 8 is bright enough at that setting.
