I like my CW380 Kydex ankle rig, I really do. But I am wanting to make one in leather, or maybe a leather leg band, leather holster, but a kydex locking system infused into the rig to dispense with the need for a thumb break.

Kydex is cool. Kydex is light and easy to mold, but I like working with leather, even though it takes forever. I do everything by hand, no machines, and my fingers feel arthritic after long sessions punching holes and sewing. Leather is a bit more gratifying. I put the rough side out for greater IWB surface retention.

Anyone else work leather?

I can't remember buying a holster. Since I have been carrying legally, my holsters have been home spun.

My daily carry G26 is carried in an IWB rig originally made for my Wife. This is the 2nd holster I made for my Wife. It was made for the G26, but will accommodate G19. My Wife sold that gun to get her P380, so the holster is now mine. Thankfully so, as right when I finished it, I wished it was mine!

Digging through the garage last night I found the first holster I made for my Wife. A very technically challenging knock off of the Galco "Royal Guard". It was made for the G19, but will accommodate the G26 as well.

Much of it had to be sew from the inside. A difficult yet great fitting rig.

This one is for my pocket vintage special bob hammer, Charter Arms "Undercover"

Oh man if I only had time for another hobby. Great work and I'm sure satisfying knowing you made them yourself.

I know a couple good leather benders which I guess qualifies me as an expert and your rigs look first class. Very well done.

I agree 100% with b4uqzme, a certain pride in being able to say you created it yourself.

Very nice Gun Papa.
I especially like the way you have reinforced the mouth of the holster.

I've always had a problem with leather collapsing even on OWB holsters. I think it's because of my small waist. So personally I think a reinforced holster
mouth is a MUST have.

Oh…..the holsters collapses even though I'm careful not to wear them for more than a few minutes without the gun.
