So my cw9 hit the 1300 round mark and the slide no longer consistently locks back. I thought it was just my thumb causing it but have come to the conclusion it isn't. I installed a P9 slide stop in shortly after I purchased the gun. Has worked flawlessly up until this point. I haven't tightened the screw that holds the spring wasn't sure if I should. All my mags are fine no broken followers.

Another note, I can lock slide back manually and slap the grip at the mag and the slide goes forward like a m&p.

Any tips?

Could be the spring isn't positioned properly and needs a bit more lift.

Look for the CW45 fixes thread by Greg in the tech section.

I believe there's a post there that shows how to position that spring. Do be very careful tightening that screw. Metal versus tupperware, the metal wins everytime.

Colonel B-man, I gotta disagree to some extent.

The SPRING holds the lever down, not up. The follower holds the lever up.

That is, when you pull back on a locked slide, the spring forces the lever down (when no magazine is present). The follower overcomes the spring, and the spring is rather weak so any sort of follower action should overcome it.

This should be an easy visual.... that is..... does the nub on the slide stop engage the follower?

Or - is the spring preventing the rising of the lever, because the lever is mispositioned in relation to the spring?

Addicted... field strip the pistol, put the slide stop in. Put a magazine in. Take a picture straight down so we can see how the follower is interacting. You'll get the definitive answer that way.

Give CJB a cigar. Bawanna has to go sit in the corner on this one. If you limp wrist the gun the slide may not travel back far enough for the slide stop to engage. Weak ammo could be another cause for this malfunction.
