Hey all, just registered and thought I would say hello. I am the new owner of a PM9 and haven't had time to go to the range yet. I had looked at the PM9 before and thought about buying it. After reading a ton of reviews, I decided that I would get one. I really like the size and feel. It certainly appears to be of the highest quality. I've been shooting since I was an early teen, 1964 - wow, time has flown by. I've owned and shot many pistols of all types, and look foward to shooting my new Kahr PM9. I am already thinking about putting on some William's sights. A friend of mine has them on his Glock and he likes them. Any opinions??? Thanks Ross

Congratulations; I'm a new PM9 owner, as well. Just be sure not to be discouraged upon chambering the first round if you have trouble. It absolutely has to be done by really slingshotting the slide or even better, us the slide lock to release the slide and chamber the round.
It's just not the same as a Glock; there's no margin of error. The good news is, it will work / chamber every time, though, if you do it this way.

Jocko has an insane round count through his PM9, and loves it more everyday. Me I still prefer things that go BOOM, so I stay with 45. All in all, these are nice pistols. Take the time to learn it, and shoot it, and they will serve you well. As has been said before, shoot it a bunch, shoot it again, rinse and repeat.

Forgot to mention the thread on the proper prep of your new Kahr, and the lube diagram...sorry. http://kahrtalk.com/kahr-tech/308-kahr-lube-diagram.html http://kahrtalk.com/kahr-tech/1521-proper-prep-new-kahr.html There we go, a little pre-flight and it'll be smooth sailing.

Shoot 300-400 rounds to break it in. I found that the suggested 200 wasn't enough. I love the size and concealability. Welcome. TJ

in ur favor to me anyhow is that you did not give up on ur kahr. It seems now that it is up and running right. Some take longer to mate up than others. I had a Para Carry 9 that gave alot of issues and the first thing Para told me when I called them was call back after 500 rounds and then let us know how it is doing.
I do believe every gun needs break in rounds, the fact that one can take a new gun out of the box and it never give issues does not mean that it was not breaking itself in. Not sure break in rounds means that you will have issues in , lets say 200 rounds, but to me means give the gun a chance to work out its quirks also and mayhbe even for the shooter to work out his quirks with that particular gun. I am not here alibing for kahrs either. Basically they work great out of the box, but like a new kahr break in doesn't mean it will not start or act up but means giving the engine the time and care to get itself mated up also...
I can say my PM9 never has given one issue since out of the box, but I acan also state that at first I had a hard time hand racking that little gun, now I can do so with ease, so has the gun broekn in somewhat, or have i learned to handrack this little gun much better. My opinion is BOTH...

regarding the Lube diagram, I always dab some oil on the trigger spring, the mag release catch on the inside, and on the "thingies" on the back of the polymer--the part that pulls the striker back.

Congrats on your new PM9 and welcome to the forum. Your going to love carrying the PM9, mine has become my main carry thanks to how well it conceals and shoots.
