Took a break from politics and walked down to the "range" today to finish breakin.
Fired rounds 101 thru 210 today.
Results: :D
Lessons learned from last outing:
1. Still getting used to the long trigger pull but feeling more comfortable.
2. Mowed the grass, shot 110 rounds, found 128 empties.
Lessons learned this time:
1. I seem to have a habit of letting the bottom of my trigger finger slide on the trigger guard during recoil, gets a little sore after a while. Solve with a little duct tape finger wrap.
2. The screws holding the grips are not tightened at the factory.
Fun's over, back to chores.

The screws will sometimes shoot loose. A little dab of finger nail polish on the threads or sometimes a small rubber o ring under the screw seems to help.
This is more prevalent with wood grips but the new poly type grips will loosen too. The old rubber versions seemed to hold well. They were really awesome grips. Wish they'd go back to those myself.

The grip screws always come loose on my mk9 & mk40 when shooting. I keep a dime with me to tighten them & check them while shooting so as not to loose any. The fingernail polish is a good idea.

I took it to mean that as a result of mowing the lawn around where he shoots he was able to pick up more brass. Brass from his 101-210 round session and brass from the previous 100 round session that got lost in the then higher grass.

Meep, Meep!
Side note about today's trip, a road runner hanging out between the pond and the range. It took off when I showed up. Goofy looking but fun to watch. Didn't see Wile E.
Another advantage to living in the boonies.
