Though I had troubles when new, I now have worked it out. Ran 60 rounds through it yesterday - 36 rounds of Fed JHP 230gr and 24 rounds of Win T-series JHP.

Near flawless... one slide lock back which easily could have been user error.
I did take one casing to the forehead that drew some blood....ouch!

Did you notice anything at all different when you took the case to the forehead. Possible limp wrist? I know Wynn mentioned getting pummeled before he sent his back. So could possible be an extractor issue I suppose. I think I only had 1 in my first range session.
I did have a few slide locks, my son had zero so I'm certain mine were op error. I'm hoping my slide lock lever melt down will eliminate that issue. I still find myself glowing when I say "MY" PM45.

Shooting glasses and a hat with a brim are good things to keep those "kisses" or lovetaps from causing harm.:D
The incidence really decreased after the first return to the factory, but there's still an occasional one bouncing off my hat.

I need to work on holding the gun down and follow-up shots. I usually am somewhat relaxed and let the gun rise.

I did not notice anything different on that one casing to the forehead. I was emptying the mag pretty quickly so may have loosened my grip a tad during the sequence. Prior to getting the extractor replaced I was getting one case to the head every 20 rounds. Now am getting it every 30-50 rounds. From what I heard it is the nature of the beast. Since I'm running smoothly with the PM45, I'm reluctant to get new parts until I know that I need them.

I'd forgotten you had the extractor replaced. Sounds like it has improved some anyhow. Someone else here mentioned everytime he limp wristed he took one to the head. Don't make total sense to me unless the case just isn't getting hit hard enough by the ejector to push it off to the side somehow. I'm with you, if it's running don't mess with it.

tonight my son and I took the K9, P380 and the Ruger lcp out for a trial. I wanted him to shoot the lcp some more as that is his car gun. I had not shot my K9 in ages and wanted to give it a work out also. My My, that ported K9 is such a dream gun to shoot. I took off the kahr wood grips I had ordered and put back on the original rubber kahr grips. Just feels so much better in my hand also and the screws don't work loose in the rubber grips like they did in the wood grips and then when that happens I start to get light strikes due to the trigger bar creeping outward a tad. This K9 is just a real shooter and with the magna porting and all steel, shoots like a damn 22.

Now the P380 and the lcp both were flawless. the liltte lcp is a nice gun but oh so in accurate it is hard to believe when shooting comparison next to the P380. I was all over the place with the lcp, literally piss poor shooting, my son did do better than I but the P380 just shot circles around the lcp for accuracy. again though both never missed a beat either.

all in all a nice evening with my 22 year old son who will be moving 130 miles July 6th to start his new carreer after graduating from engineering shcool. Also brought the Ruger MK11 target 6 7/8" bbl along and it just shoots um in the same hole at 10 yards. ..

So today, I road my harley about 75 miles for coffee, and this evening a nice shoot with my son. Yes indeed fellas life is damn good at 66, damn good.

I was wearing a hat ... always do particularly when I know I'm going to the range with the PM45. That one casing somehow found the trajectory to nail me. Most rounds with the 45 get ejected pretty far. When I sweep up they are around 10-12 feet away at 4 - 5 'oclock.

I cannot imagine not wearing my safety glasses. In the past I have taken a round or two directly into the lens... would have caused real damage to my eye

Very cool. I just retired (or semi-retired depending on your point of view) in the last week, though am trying to figure out how to enjoy the small stuff a little more. I'll give myself a year to work out the daily details.

I most likely will never retire. I'm told you have to be old and I refuse to grow up. I do know that if you retire you gotta stay busy, I know my dad used to say he didn't know how he found time to work, he has so much to do. I guess in my case it doesn't take much to keep me busy but you just plain can't lay around. Not good. Had many friends all excited to retire, got there, layed around didn't do anything and crossed the river long before their time. I think Jocko has it figured out retiring young. Buy a Harley go far pieces for coffee, be doing something. Live long and prosper. Congrats on your retirement too. I'm kind of envious, ok I'm damn envious but having kids late in life I still have 1 left in High School so need all the marbles I can get.

My youngest is 13, so I think keeping busy will be easy. Had some late in life, like Picasso.

Am thinking of collecting early 1911's... anything Colt associated with military, or any very early production before 1911 in any caliber. Would love to get some guns that have seen action in different theaters if it's documented. Looking for the definitive book on the subject. There are a few sites that have info, but I like to do exhaustive research before jumping.

I retired at age 53, cancer creeped in and forced me to sell my business and call it quits. best thing I ever did to. Life is fu--ing good my friends, except for the big C thing, which I have fought for over 10 years but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and yup it's a fu--iing train, so i ride um like I stole um and I shoot um like I stole um and I never look back either..

Well, that really sucks. You seem to have a good attitude about it, though, and making the most of things. So when are you going to get a PM45??
Take care, buddy.

Sounds like a great day. I can't shoot with my son anymore. He's a Glock fanatic , and the last time he took me to the police range, I beat him with my SIG's. He won't invite me back. He did have a couple of nice things to say about the Kahrs though, but for backup. They sure are a lot better than that beatup P3AT he's carrying now. And, he did like my new M&P 45.

Good luck to your son on the new career. What type of engineering does he do?

You reminded me I need to drag the old CBR out of the garage and do some riding. It's just been too hot around here lately, and too easy to jump into the convertible.

BTW, we're the same age. Somehow you sounded older.:D

I agree 100%. You have to grow old, you don't have to grow up. It seems that the older I get, the more jobs I take on. Since 'she who must be obeyed' and I got the restaurant, I'm up to five jobs, but one of my companies is sorta inactive. Frankly, the thought of getting up in the morning, and not having any place I have to be, terrifies me. I don't think I'm cut out for retirement. My best friend retired at 50, and I have no idea how he spends his time. He and his wife left yesterday for a 10 day cruise to Alaska. After spending 12 years in the Navy, the whole idea bores me. Like I said I'll probably work until one day when I assume room temperature.

I'm going on a Alaska cruise next month only because the "she who must be obeyed" tells me so, and continues to tell me so after 25 years of marriage and 38 years engagement, (never lived in sin). I never been on a shrimp boat but I been on a really big boat. I have always wanted to go to Alaska, now most of the reasons I wanted to go no longer apply since I can't walk around in the outback or whatever they call the unpopulated areas. Should be able to see some of it and check the huge catering boat, guess it's only a week, I should survive. With the couple of bear horror stories recently, the boat should be a nice safe haven.

It would be nice if you could take a gun with you up there... one of those 3-lb loaded .45+ snubbies with 300-grain or so solid bullets... just in case... maybe you could hide one in your chair or something.:D
Don't feed the bears... or the Orcas.... have a "safe" adventure. Have a life vest handy... or better... on when you're around water!

I've been trying to find out if I can take a gun on a cruise ship. It stops in Canada but I dont plan to get off there. If I did and left it on the boat/ship (really big mother) shouldn't be an issue. Couple of the girls here cruise alot and they say no way, no how but they really arent into guns, even though both of their husbands are cops in other jurisdictions and cruise to 3rd world nations all the time. I'm going america to america with some salt water in between. Havent heard of no pirates up that way but with that many people on one floating apparatus there's bound to be a holes. I most certainly could hide a gun on my chair but have to take the risk factor into account. I've done it before.

I'm certain that you cannot. Your bags will be put through metal detectors. Check the website of the cruise line for details. Here is Carnival's:
Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, incendiary devices or other dangerous goods are strictly prohibited aboard the vessel. Please see section 4(f) of ticket contract for further details.

Section 4(f) reads:
Weapons, firearms, ammunitions, explosives, incendiary devices, or other dangerous goods are strictly prohibited aboard the vessel. The Guest warrants that no such articles are contained in any receptacle or container carried or presented by him as baggage. Carnival may deny boarding to any Guest traveling with any weapons, firearms, ammunitions, explosives, incendiary devices, or other dangerous goods and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Carnival will confiscate and turn over to the appropriate governmental authorities any of the above articles found on the Guest or his baggage. The Guest will be solely responsible for any and all damage and/or loss caused by his violation of this policy.

Well, guess that pretty much solves that dilemma. Either travel nekkid or travel illegal. Neither is a very good choice. Maybe I could borrow somebodys Kel Tec? Naah, I'll just beat em with one of my arm rest.......
I will have to go over the chair with a fine tooth comb just to be safe. I've found all kinds of stuff stashed that I'd forgotten I had on board.
Lost a K40 mag for 6 months, a week after I got 2 new ones I found it in a little backpack pocket with my surefire, had fallen over and was laying flat where I never noticed it.

tried to smuggle on some liquor on his past cruise this early spring in his suit cases and they caught it. I wolud strongly advise not taking or even trying to get a gun on board a crusie ship, or possbly you might be waving from the mainland GOODBY to your friends who are cruising out to sea. Just not worth it, they have great baggage stuff to xray everything one takes. Just not worth it. Enjoy the cruise, hell if it's your time, it's ur time..

No doubt good advice. I tell myself all the time that same thing, if it's my time, it's my time. I wake up every morning take a deep breath, look to the right to see if the freaking chair is still there and think to myself, not my time again.
I just got this thing in my head that when I go down, I'm going hard, not easy but maybe easy is a better choice. If it's a bad guy deal one of them is going with me though, some way some how, I ain't going alone.

1985: Achille Lauro Hijacking 1985 (http://www.palestinefacts.org/pf_1967to1991_achille_lauro.php)

Read this about "international justice" for the terrorists. They should have gotten a short stretch... a short rope's length, as should every damn pirate caught at sea. What a crock... releasing them because there's no treaty or international agreement for handling pirates... even the Rooskies let those suckers go. Just shoot them and their boats full of holes and let them sink. Problem solved. Repeat as necessary.
