Anybody have any problems with the pearce grip exstentions on their 6 round mags

I have em....They will make the gun print a little more. The extension will give more surface area to help dislodge the base plate on your mag during multiple mag dumps in training scenarios. I do have a fix for that though.
Other than that they do help with controlling muzzle flip.

I use one at times and it works fine. It will increase printing.

No problems. But I ground mine down to about half size. There's enough remaining to keep my pinky from dangling. I wasn't so much concerned with printing...I think it looks better. Just an idea.

B4 .... what brand of slide holster is that. Looks very simple and effective.

You're a genius. Ground mine down too. I have small hands so I can get all 3 fingers on the grip now and the printing impact is negligible.

David, in your picture it appears that your slip on grip is covering the magazine release a little. This could impede a mag change in a SHTF incident. You might want to modify that grip to preclude the possibility.

Great idea on grounding down the extensions...is printing much worse when they are ground down compared to no extension? I may be purchasing some extensions and doing that same thing...What works best to ground them?

Muggsy - the mag release is on the other side and not impeded; I generally don't carry a spare mag anyway; 7 better be enough [EDIT - Muggsy is right, it is a little more difficult to remove the magazine with the grip so low. I prefer the grip that way and don't carry a spare mag so it should be okay]
rk - I pocket carry with a flap on the holster so there's very little impact on printing; I used my bench grinder and some sandpaper
Mugs is talking about the other side where the release would protrude being somewhat blocked.
Interesting slide serrations :)

It will have no effect on mag release as is but it is nice that a fellow member is looking out for each other.

Yes, I realized that after I posted. Muggs knows what he's talking about. The mag release button isn't affected but the grip being so low does make it a little more difficult to remove the magazine. Since I don't carry a spare mag its really not an issue for me.

I did a little more work on the magazines.

Echoing others, the only problem I've had is with printing so I relegated them to the back-up mags for my two Kahrs. May have to try grinding them down too.

That's a Yaqui slide. Many companies make them. This one is a Galco. It's my do-all OWB holster as it fits everything from my MK9 to a full-size 1911.
I too used a regular bench grinder then some sandpaper. Then I rubbed it a bit with Balistol to kinda seal where I ground. I love Balistol.
Printing? I don't notice any difference between a bare mag and the half-Pearce extension.
Thanks for the genius comment. I thought I was the only one who knew. :D

I understand that the mag release is on the other side. I not quite the dolt that Jocko thinks I am. However, when you push your mag release the part that is covered by the grip moves to the right. If that grip slips up any higher yours won't. That is the primary reason that I went from slip on grips to stick on decal type grips. I don't want any slip ups. ( Say thank you, muggsy, you may have just saved my life.) You're welcome, David.

Yep - thank you Muggsy although it will only save my life if I carry a spare mag. Seriously - I do thank you for pointing that out.

I'll add to what muggsy said. Carry a spare mag or two. Nobody ever had too much ammo.
I even carry two 6-round speed strips when I carry a revolver...even if it's a 5 shot revolver. Nobody ever had too much ammo.

That is a freaking slick idea. I like that!

Had mine for bout a year and love them. The CM9 is more controlable, easier to draw and shoots with less muzzle flip. It does print a bit more but I can live with that. I also have a grip sleeve which also helps maintain a secure draw and grip. Buy 'em and try 'em.

I've used them on my PM9 for almost a decade without any problems

My pinky got pinched and it resulted in a blood blister. I took it off.

Funny how things work out. I had them on 2 of my 6 rd mags. The slide wouldn't lock open after the last round with either mag. Took them off and everything is fine. To me - not worth messing with.
