Got my CDNN purchase from the FFL and started to strip it down and compare it to my NYPD K9.

Wow... No wonder these go for $299. Very rough action in the slide and the slide to frame fit was chewing plastic.

I took some light passes with lapping compound and buffing wheel to the frame and removed some of the areas getting shaved. Just a touch up.

I stripped the slide and polished nearly every mating surface to match my K9. Took about an hour.

I then took the buffer pad and flitz polish to the slide rails and now its not chewing plastic. Didn't notice this at first.

Was far more work than anticipated. But, she functions 100% now and the trigger is nearly a pound less. And I haven't even swapped springs yet.

Much smoother pull and more closely matches my K9.

Some guns eat plastic some don't . I have one of each. Its the knotched areas in the slide that do the chewing. Sharp corners to those spots. Other wise they tend to be good. My first kahr was a cw9 that one could have though was going to eat the plastic rails off it. Ckeaned up the plastic after some 50 rounds and it was done. cm9 runs clean and so does my tp40. Just sompthun the learn about .

Run it wet for the first 100 rounds.

The plastic rail are just a reassembly aid. The damage to them is only cosmetic. Once you clean them up you're home free. The slide runs on the steel rails that are located fore and aft on the frame.

Yeah, I was wondering about the rails. I've had concerns with other guns but similarly not noticed any issues after initial "break-in".

Still, it is a bit concerning to see the shavings fall out after dis-assembly.

Runs great now.. but, didn't get there from the factory.
