Awesome. Love the LCR. I tried pocketing my CW9 but it's just too big for me.

I agree...PM to CW is a little big and heavy for front pocket carry for me too. Can be done...which is a good thing. But rather pocket the 380 and IWB the PM.

I actually did an experiment before I decided to buy a pocket pistol. I weighed out amounts of loose change at increasing amounts starting at 15 ounces.
When I got to 21 ounces the weight in my pocket was a frequent reminder that it was there.
The experiment also taught me the fallacy of the "A few ounces difference is not going to matter" argument. At some point an extra ounce does make a difference.
Twenty three ounces in my pocket was annoying.
Twenty five ounces total weight is my limit for pocket carry.
Twenty seven ounces is barely tolerable for a quick trip down to the store but I personally can't carry 27 ounces in my pocket all day - if other people can, more power to them.
I did this experiment because I didn't want to plunk down a bunch of money for a pocket pistol only to find out pocket carry turned out to be uncomfortable for me.
My Rohrbaugh R9, loaded with seven rounds of 147gr ammo, sitting in a Nemesis pocket holster weighs in at 18.5 ounces. It disappears into my pocket and most of the times I can't tell it is there.
In fact I started to develop a bad habit of putting my right hand on my right pocket to check for its presence. It was kind of an absent-minded gesture and I now consciously stop myself from checking.

My scale said the CM9 weighed 14.1 ounces. I weighed it a number of times and checked the accuracy of the scale with a 1 ounce weight. On the other hand, the magazine turned out to be lighter than what Kahr has on their website. Kahr states that the magazine weighs 1.9 ounces and my scale had it at 1.5 ounces. The CM9 loaded with 7 rounds of Winchester RA9T weighs 18.9 ounces. When the holster is added, the whole thing weighs 20.8 ounces.

I agree that 23 ounces in the pocket isn't great. I could probably shave a few ounces off by removing the grip and the pinky extension but I can get all 3 fingers on it this way and I'm much more accurate.

For comparison:
P380: 13.95 ounces w. 6+1 BB 90-gr +P GDs, or Underwood +P 90-gr GD's
PM9: 19.9 ounces with 6+1 124-gr +P GD Short Barrel
P9: 22.1 ounces with 7+1 124-gr +P GD Short Barrel with 4" ported barrel
P40: 24.5 ounces with 6+1 180-gr +P GD Short Barrel
PM45: 23.85 ounces with 5+1 230-gr +P GD Short Barrel.

All stuff aside..................what allows me to carry more weight in my front pocket are suspenders............a dirty word for younger guys, but when you get older, you'll cross over. If I front carried with a belt, my pants would look like a plumbers. Suspenders allow me to carry very heavy things. For real heavy, I use a belt, and some Perry suspenders. That will allow me to carry the heaviest firearm IWB, or OWB. I prefer the heavier firearm, less recoil, more accurate. It allows me to be somewhat flexible in my carry. I know if I went to Tupperware guns, I would probably not feel a thing, after carrying heavy. I also carry IWB with a belt only. The perfect way to carry hasn't been invented yet.;)
have only been pocket carrying for a few months so for now I'm just not comfortable printing.

Interesting...I can assume my CM9 with 147g Gold Dots would weigh the same, plus my holster weight puts it at 20.3.
My powder scale tops out at 179 grains so I can't weigh the whole thing...

Someone on another forum said something like "The weight difference between the SCCY and PM9 is negligible" I went crazy weighing stuff.
A brass cased 115gr 9mm cartridge weighs about .39 oz
A brass cased 124gr 9mm cartridge weighs about .41 oz
A brass cased 147gr 9mm cartridge weighs about .46 oz
When people say these larger pistols are "POCKET PISTOLS" they seldom factor in a holster. So they're stuffing a SCCY or a Glock 26 into a pocket, without a holster, and don't take into account that they're very difficult to pull and wriggle the thing back out of a pocket, either that or they're wearing Carhharts, Dickies or some other type of work pants - not typical Levis, Lee or Wrangler jeans.
And I think people who are out to make a point about their favorite gun brand really being pocketable ignore that lugging 25+ ounces in a pocket really becomes a pain, because they're too focused on proving their point about their favorite gun to be honest about how they're really not pocket pistols.
But anyway, that is what prompted me to starting weighing actual cartridges...

Once I purchased a good belt, I don't even notice a PM9 when pocket carrying it. I don't yet have the physique that requires suspenders yet, but a good belt that doesn't stretch and sag makes pocket carry not problem, even while running.

I pocket carry a CW40 ever day. I wear a belt (don't need 'spenders yet) and my pants don't fall down :D

Exactly...I wouldn't pocket carry my LCP as it's so bulky in the pocket. The Kahrs are way to heavy for me to consider pocket carrying.
(Not to mention I don't wear any pants with pockets that one would fit into very well).

I could not get comfortable with IWB carry, so I went to pocket carry. I already had a 40 cal Glock 23 and I did not want to get into another caliber, so I decided to stay with 40 cal. My preference is metal over composite so I decided on a Kahr MK40. The size was ok but needed to consider the weight. I did not buy the gun and then make it work for me. I put the Glock in my pocket and carried it around for a few days. The weight was not a problem, so I ordered the MK40 and carry it every day.
For me personally (I am 6'4' and over 250), size is much more important than weight. Size is important because I want to carry concealed and it needs to fit in my pocket, and I almost exclusively wear cargo pants/shorts.
It makes no difference to me whether the pistol weighs 14 ounces or 24 ounces, both are heavy enough to swing and bounce against a persons leg. If a belt will keep your pants up with a gun clipped directly to it, it should keep your pants up if the gun is hanging from it on a rope or stuck in your pocket.
That's my opinion.

Jeez, I just love the p238. I'm not a fan of the 1911 style platform but the 238 and 938 are some of the sexiest pistols on the market. I'd like to have a Mk9, go feed that steel sub compact craving.

The remora holsters are a great buy. They work for more than iwb, I like to keep my pistols in the around the house or in my car. It will hold your pistol in place if stuck between the seats. My only issue is my cw9 remora has recently lost it's stickiness. :(

Sometimes my CM9 carries better than my Rohrbaugh R9.
I have some khaki shorts with big pockets and the R9 is so small and light that it swings out and then bangs against my leg with every step. the CM9 is larger and takes up more of the pocket, it also is a little heavier, so anyway, it doesn't move as much when I walk.

CM9 in a Kydex PJHolster pocket holster weighs in @ 21.5 ounces. In the front R pocket, it looks like a wallet or phone & I hardly know it's there. Used to pocket carry an LCP .380acp, now it's just a safe queen. The CM9 is my go to carry on a daily basis for work. I really like my Recluse pocket holster fory CM 9 as well. It has made pocket carrying a 9mm a reality for me as I am not a bulky guy: 6ft1in and about 175lbs.
Thinking of grinding down my Pearce extension as well. What grit sand paper did you use?

I used my bench grinder and then 300 grit sandpaper. Since that photo was taken I've rounded the edges off. I like the Recluse too but find that sometimes that flap gets in the way when I draw - my hand goes between the pocket and the holster rather than between the holster and the gun.
