I don't usually consider myself a lucky guy (except the girl I swindled into marrying me 35 years ago!), but I am starting to hope I may be a winner in the Kahr lottery!
About a month ago, I found a CM9 on sale at a great price and bought it. I LOVE that little gun, and it has performed perfectly, with only one stovepipe jam (first shot) out of the initial 200 for break in.
I was so pleased, that I decided I would keep an eye out for a CW380 at a great price as an upgrade for my P3AT Keltec for deep concealed carry. To my surprise I found one online for $289, and the temptation was too much to resist.
Today I unboxed it, cycled the action by hand a few hundred times, and cleaned the factory oil and dirt from the gun and my three magazines. Just before dinner, I had time to slip out with a box of .380s that had 35 rounds left in it.
Things went really well. Had a stovepipe jam on round number 10, but everything else was great. Perhaps the Kahr hiccuped, or maybe I limp wristed it as I thought about my grip and sight picture. Regardless, we are off to a good start, and I have a very good feeling about this little gun becoming a trusted pocket carry piece. Have an Alabama Kydex holster coming to replace the Remora that normally adorns the P3AT.
I am very impressed with both of the Kahrs that have joined my family. The design, workmanship, and quality have me well satisfied.
I've read enough here on Kahrtalk to realize there are some folks who have had serious issues with their guns, but I am thankful that it seems like I have a couple of the good ones!
We'll see what story the next couple boxes of ammo tell, but I wanted to say thanks for all I learned here about the care and feeding of a little Kahr. The preps paid off, and I am very pleased...

Welcome! I also recently joined the Kahr squadron with a Cw45 and am pleased as well. Simply a joy to shoot.

people can ever say that they have never had a malfunction of some sort in any semi made. It is ust gonna happen. to many variables for it not to happen. Does not mean it is a bad bun, could be bad round, could be shooter error, could becombination of both. ITS MECHANICAL:Amflag2:

Sounds very promising. Hope you're able to get more .380 to finish the break-in.

Congratulations! I hope I have as much success with the one I should be able to pick up from the ffl tomorrow. Don't know if I'll find enough ammo locally to break it in for awhile though. They did have some (high $$) at the firing range the other day, so I may have to shed more tears than rounds.
I'll be interested in reading your experience with the gun in the future...good-luck and keep us posted!

It's just good Kahrma that comes from clean living. Thanks for the thread. Enjoy.

+ 1.
I have a few that have never failed including my K40. But my MK9? Now that gun learned me a few things. Things that have helped me shoot all handguns better.

Follow up outing to original post happened today. I shot another 40 rounds from 3 magazines, and the CW380 performed like a pro! I'm sitting at 75 rounds fired so far, and although I was primarily firing for round count and getting more familiarity with the pistol, I did pretty well shooting at 8" steel plates from 12 yards. I'll do something similar tomorrow (home range here in the countryside). Getting more confident and happy each time I "mess around" with this gun.
I mentioned in the first post I was waiting for an Alabama pocket holster for the CW380. It came today, and I am REALLY pleased with the fit and design. It is much, much easier to slip in and out of the pocket than the Remora I have been using, and less noticeable is it is thinner over all and has a flatter panel toward the outside to provide less printing. As soon as I feel like the official break in period is done, the CW380 in the Alabama holster will become my daily carry piece. Delivery time on the holster was 8 weeks, but feels like it was well worth it.
My little Kahr is doing well. A few more sessions at the steel plates, and we'll be frequent companions. I did pretty well with accuracy, but have to admit I caught myself flinching as the session wore on from anticipated recoil. I'll be working on that, and doing some more dry fire drills to work on "muscle memory."

phubai, there's lots of 380 on line under 40 cents per round. Here are two ammo shopping bots that are helpful:

Thanks for the links Bob. I'm going to try to order some today.
I've also held off on the Alabama pocket holster but after the comment above I think I'll give that a try as well. The Remora is working but I'm not entirely satisfied. The Crossbreed Pocket Rocket I bought just didn't work for me and now has drawer duty.

http://pjholster.com/deep-concealment-option/pocket-holsters Very similar to the Alabama pocket holster but improved to better hide the outline of the gun. The front of the holster is completely smooth, while the Alabama version you can still see the outline of the trigger guard and muzzle. More of the gun is also covered by the holster.

phubai,
I really do like the Alabama holster. I even ordered a pocket magazine carrier from them that is handy, too. I am glad I made the investment. But...
There is a guy on Ebay that goes by "jbowe12" that has a nice selection of ready made Kydex pocket holsters for just $20. If you are looking to save money, I think they look pretty good.
Here is a link to the one I saw: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kahr-CW380-P380-Black-Kydex-pocket-holster-/271523488162?pt=US_Holsters&hash=item3f380fa1a2
There is one thing I like better about the Alabama holster, for sure. The outside of the holster is nearly smooth to reduce printing, with the greater detail that provides the perfect amount of retention on the inside toward your body. The "hook" at the bottom curves gently back to make it fit around your leg profile. You can tell they have been at this a while, and have there designs well worked out. It felt like a long wait, but I can prove I think it was worth it... I now have one on the way for my CM9, as well!

Thanks to all...I ordered the ammo and am studying Alabama, PJs, as well as ebay on the kydex pocket holsters! I'm leaning toward PJs, simply because I've heard of a pretty long wait at Alabama holsters right now. I may contact them both and see before ordering. I can wait if I have to.
