Lost threads

Today I was reading the New Posts. I went somewhere else in order to write a letter. When I came back they were all gone except three. I was unable to read any other new posts. This has happened before on occasion.
What gives? :confused:

I think when you log in it, it assumes you've read all the new post. Happens to me all the time. If I get interrupted I just minimize it. Usually if it's a good thread it'll come up again anyhow.

Bound to miss a few now and then.

I never logged out, just went to a new tab then came back...

When you are reading new posts and you click on one to read it, it is no longer a new post until someone posts another post after you read it. It then becomes a new post and will return to the new posts section.
To find a new post that you have read and nobody has posted on after you read it you need to remember what subject section (what forum name) it was in and go to that section. you will find all posts there weather you have read them or not. Example: You are reading a new post and it originated in the "general discussion" section but you are reading it in the new posts. After you read it as a "new post", You will find it by going back to the "general discussion" forum link.

As Bawanna said, make sure you are logged in and try new posts again.

Next time it happens, log out, and log back in, and go to new posts to see if they returned.

Threads are "marked as read" after a period of inactivity while you are logged on. This applies to threads you did not view.

So, if you have to walk away from your computer for a spell, or if you browse to another site on a different tab while you are still logged onto KahrTalk, you risk losing "New Posts".

To avoid this, simply log off before periods of inactivity. Then, when you are ready to resume reading KT threads, log on again and all unread threads will appear when you select "New Posts".
