Does anyone happen to own both the K9 and MK9 that they would be able to post some comparison pictures on.

I know the K9 is 0.7" longer and 0.5" higher but I find it still difficult to visualize that size difference.

I'm actually a bit shocked to admit it but the MK9 is getting more carry time than my beloved Sig P239

Thank you

Brings new meaning to the words, "Got time for a short one?"

The MK9 is a .7" shorter in length and .5" shorter in height than the K9. The width is the same @ .9". The MK nine has a 6+1 capacity and the K9 is 7+1. It's similar to the difference between a CM9 and a CW9.

I'm not sure pictures tell the whole story. The shorter grip of the MK makes a significant difference in the feel in my "average" size hands. Recoil is not very different, about what you'd expect if you've shot a K9. In a holster, the two aren't a whole lot different, i.e. the smaller size of the MK is barely noticeable compared to the K9.

I'd say if size is absolutely critical above all else, then the MK obviously has the edge. But the K9 is in my opinion a better shooter and that's more critical to me.

They're both outstanding though.

I have both in the Elite03 model. Besides the length and height differences, the ejection ports are shaped differently. The K9 has a larger, more rectangular shaped port, where the MK9's port is shorter on top and has a rounded front opening on the right side of the slide. I suspect this was done to strengthen the MK9's shorter slide forward of the ejection port. From the port back, the slide and upper frame, including the trigger and guard, are identical.

The rubber grips on the K9 make a big difference in how the pistol feels in the hand vs. the MK9. The K9 feels like it was made for my hands. The MK9 has hard polymer grips, which I've covered with a Hogue Handall. It helps, but still not as good as the K9.

Because of it's full grip and extra weight & size, not to mention one more round, the K9 is my go-to carry gun. Both are accurate and reliable...great pistols!

I have a PM9, an MK9, and a K9. The MK9 is a never carried "tweener". Small size and light weight or heavier and larger. Smaller and heavier doesn't really suit me. I use the MK9 as a desk drawer gun.

Thanks guys. I only found two pictures online of both othe models together. I think I still prefer the smaller MK9. It fits perfectly in my small hands and the steel construction makes it handle better than the CM9

If it fits you perfectly, get it!

Thanks Jeepster. That's the type of pic I was looking for. They sure look pretty with wood grips
