Yes finally the CM45 is out!:D
I ordered mine this afternoon from GAG. I have been waiting for this one for a long time, so when I got the notice I jumped. I guess I'll be a beta tester again. Worked out OK the last time when I ordered my CM9 the first day that they came out, hope this one works out too! GAG shipped my TacOps super fast so I hope to have the new CM45 sometime next week.

See, all it took was for me to buy another CW45, and BAM, here comes the CM45's. I KNEW that's what the holdup was.

Yes its sorta like a unicorn or something LOL... The hell of it is I am taking my dad to a gun show tomorrow, and buying this today kinda puts a damper on what I may find there that I didn't know I needed LOL...Gotta pace myself you know!

No problem Beardog. The CM40 is too big for my pockets, and I'm sure the CM45 isn't any smaller, so might as well have the CW45.

I won't be far behind you, but I'll let you do the beta. I haven't had an almost pocketable 45 since the PM45 was stolen 3 1/2 years ago. Now, how about an MK45??????

I picked up my new CM45 last night.:D
Have to add, it was another great Grab A Gun transaction! 2 business days after ordering it was delivered to my FFL and in my hand.

The gun looks great. I really like that slide serrations come up to the top unlike the ones on the PM45. I went over it this AM and all seems good did a little stoning to clean up a few edges but nothing much really needed. Its now cleaned, lubed, racked a bit and ready for the range.
I am happy too with the size and feel of this one, just big enough for a full 3 finger grip and balances nicely. It appears my Sig TacOps mags fit and function in this little guy too. Will have to verify at he range. My CM9 is still better for pocket carry, but with large pocketed cargo shorts I will be able to carry this in my pocket too. I will be making pocket, IWB, and OWB holsters for it so it will get carried one way or the other. Glad to have a .45 this small and light for carry again.

Here it is!

Looks really good. I too like those slide serrations going up to the top too. I doubt I'll part with my PM45 to get one but it could happen too down the road. I've been pondering a CW 45 lately but again just pondering.
Get back to us when you get to shoot it and try those 1911 mags too.
I know the Wilson's work in mine and you should eventually have a stack of Wilson mags for your tac ops that reach from here to the horizon. Can't have too many 1911 mags.
I don't work for Wilson and I don't play one on TV but I like em.

I came very close to getting the CW45 when GAG had them on sale the other week. But I am very glad the CM45 finally was released before I did, as this is the one I really wanted.

I will let you know about the Sig mags functionality. They are actually made by Checkmate and are really nice mags, But I know that guys really love Wilsons so i will have to give them a try sometime for sure.

Congrats!! I handled a used PM45 that I almost bought a few weeks ago but saw the Grabagun sale for the CT45 for 269 and picked that up instead.

Yes the roll marks are def crisper on the CT45 than either my CW380 or CW9

how does it shoot?

I have not fired it yet...I have been going over it pretty good the last few days and fixing a few things to my liking before I shoot it. Tomorrow morning I am planning to go so stay tuned.

I was going to go today actually, but the road down to the range was closed? I would have had to backtrack to get to it another way. So I decided to go up to my mothers house 1st to repair part of her fence that got blown down in the bad storms the other night and ended up having to remove and replace a broken 4x4 post in full sun 90* weather. Till I got done doing that it was enough outdoor activity for me today LOL.

Ok guy's I made it to the range to shoot the new CM45 for the first time today.

I am happy to say all went well, and I am really liking this pistol!

It's a very nice little gun that handles the large cal. .45 acp nicely. The recoil was not bad at all. After settling down a bit my accuracy was not too bad for the first time shooting it IMO. I received my free 2nd mag so I was using two 5rd Kahr mags, both worked fine with no issues.

I started with WWB 230 FMJ, put about 40 or so through it and it ran perfectly with them.
I then switched to my 200gr LSWC and on the first mag I had 1 that got held up about half way on the way in, but a bump to the back of the slide sent it into battery. That was around only 40 shots through the gun at that point and I think it was just a normal tight new Kahr,=non issue. I went on to put about 40 more of those through it with no problems at all.
I also ran some Ranger 230gr +P through it and they worked fine as well.
I was also able to sling shot the slide to load the first round right from the start, just like I do with my other Kahrs with no issue.

So I am close to having about 100 rds through it now, but think it is already feeling broken in, and with a few more rds through it in the next range trip I will be confidently able to carry my new 17oz .45 hand cannon

This is the last 10 shots I took, fairly quick shooting-standing @7yds.
http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae70/BeardogV1/CM45target.jpg (http://s958.photobucket.com/user/BeardogV1/media/CM45target.jpg.html)

I also had the opportunity to shoot another guys XDs 45 today as well. I got to say I thought hard about getting that gun instead of the CM45. But after shooting them both back to back today, I happy with my decision to get the Kahr. I still like the XDs just fine, but the CM45 fits my hand nicer and seemed to have less felt recoil to me. I also would have to work on a different grip for the XDs as I could feel the slide lock rubbing my thumb and as a result it did not lock the slide on the last round.

I did do some mods before shooting.

First thing I found that needed addressing was I couldn't eject a live round. Of course a google search brought me to one of Greg's excellent photo fix tutorials and with a little stoning and polishing the edges of the barrel hood I was able to hand eject FMJ, HP, LSWC.

I was thinking that my Sig 1911 mags would work, but found out that because of the placement of the top witness hole that it would let the trigger bar spring get caught in it. In trying to figure out what the heck was holding the mags in I think I must have bent the spring end hook out slightly (the trigger bar in this .45 does not give nearly as much clearance for the spring end as my 9mm's do) So I had to re shaped it so it didn't stick out into the mag well. I stoned and polished the trigger bar as well and adjusted the spring so that There is no issue with trigger reset, or clicking, and just smoothly returns to the front with mags in or out.... So its a no-go on the Sig 1911 mags.

I also rounded the corners on my slide lock lever and reshaped and smoothed out the edges on the plastic floor plate just for comfort and to make it print less for pocket carry. Also took a little off the mag follower just for good measure so it slides past the mag catch easily.

I ordered a set of Traction grips and will install them soon, after the next range trip, just in case I need to get into the side cover again. Don't think I will, but we will see.

I am NOT happy to report that after contacting XS sights about getting a screw on Big Dot front sight for the "C" series Kahrs, I learned they won't sell you one unless THEY do the install! That doesn't really suit me, and adds quite a bit $ to the job.
Kind of dumb IMO to make a screw on front sight that should be an easy home install, then turn around and not make them available for consumer installation like all the rest of their sights are????
So I guess I will just get the Trijicon or Dawson N.S. for it.

I think that's about all I have to report at this time guys. Next thing on my list is to make some holsters and mag pouches for it when I get some time to do it.
Long story short, I am happy with my new Kahr CM45!

Thanks for the report Beardog. It's nice to have a head to head comparison with the XDS as I've seen some people saying it was a better gun. I'm lovin my CM9 so a CM45 is now on the short list!

I think you would be real happy with a CM45.
Like I said the XDs is nice too, but I just like the Kahr better. Not to mention the incredible value the CM45 is, and with addition of the free 2nd mag you are easily saving about $200ish compared to the Xds.
