I HATE the way to brite contrasting red to white , gold and baby blue ! And the same 3 handguns being advertised. I was looking for color options as some forums give you to find something calm and less offensive. .

Wheres the change the dang color button.

It's the content, not the look. Works either way for me.....
Interesting that there is a window that shows whose online and there are always 10 times as many "Guests"
C'mon outta the Closet!

I really don't like change.
But it's inevitable.
I've been around long enough to see this forum clean history.
And change the look and feel more than once.

At the end of the day it's still KahrTalk.

I predict that after a few days, most users won't remember what the old color scheme looked like.

Yeah I noticed the change yesterday & just thought it was a glitch, but evidently not & hopefully it's just a trial to take comments :32:

It took me a few visits to learn the location of the new controls to the point that I can navigate as comfortably as I did the old site. And, thanks to the help of a few folks, I was able to block some of the large images that took-up too much real estate on the screen. The pages load more quickly now and I have less scrolling to do. That's a positive change.

Overall, I have no complaints. The site will likely be more stable and secure with the software upgrade. I understand the upgrade was necessary for these reasons and I appreciate the thankless job it is to perform the work.

However, the quest to select a color scheme that would align this site with www.kahr.com (http://www.kahr.com) has led to a very unusual combination of colors. We've gone from a site which was attractive and pleasing to the eye, to an unattractive smorgasbord of colors--all in the name of connecting it to the mother-ship, which in my opinion has not been achieved.

I'm optimistic that the look of the site will improve through trial and error, and I thank those who are working to make that happen.

I use the "new post" function mostly. I treat it like an inbox. So there's an advantage and a drawback to the update.

I like that you can now "Mark forums read". Once I've looked at the threads that pertain to me, I can clear the inbox.

I don't like that "new posts" now lists all the posts individually instead of by thread as it used to. The problem is if a thread has several new posts in it, that thread is listed three or four times instead of just once.

UP here, the cheeseheads, when asked about okra, say "What?" I love the stuff, especially deep fried with a light panko breading...........................

I use the "New Posts" function the way you do. For me, multiple posts to a thread do not appear individually, as you describe. That leads me to believe there must be a setting in CP to control the way posts are displayed. With a little poking around, I bet you can set your "inbox" to display like before.

Thanks!
I didn't change anything but the New Posts function is now back to the way it displayed before. I probably just spoke to soon, before everything was finished. Anyway, its all good now. Thumbs up on the update, and thanks to JohnH for maintaining a great forum for us.

I noted a slight improvement today. The red isn't burning out my retinas today. The site navigation is back in the bottom right hand corner of each page. Maybe I can live with the change. I still don't like the U.N. baby blue trim.

Maybe your retinas are already burned out and just not so sensitive like the rest of ya?

Evict and relocate the UN. Base em someplace else.

I love okra!

Come on guys, change is good.

I have a tale to tell about four juvees who stole my golf cart. And, I caught them. They were a four thug crime wave infiltrating our neighborhood from a nearby community (read ghetto) .

More a little later this week when I have some time.

You may be surprised at all the things I did wrong, but I LEARNED at ton of feces.

Platitudes should be extinct but apparently aren't. Tourism is what I'm doing, another road trip, 8-18 July. Spice of life variety is something I last experienced almost 28 years ago when my now wife got kinda drunk and dragged me home from a party.

Wow! Haven't been at the site for a bit. Big change and not sure how I like it or not. Do see some things that will make things easier.

BTW - Platitudes are still alive and kicking in Australia.
