I just tried out a new hollow point from Sig Sauer in my CW 45. I only fired 20 rnds but they all cycled flawlessly. I was using 165 grn Hydra Shock and they work just fine. But I was able to pick up a box of Sig Sauer V crown 200 grn for 5 dollars less then the hydra shocks. I am going to put another 20 more rnds of them through next week. If everything goes well I think they are going to be my primary self defense round.
I reviewed them on line and they seem to be a pretty good product. I will let you guys know next week how it goes.

Until there have been documented results in autopsies I won't personally use them or anything w/o a proven track record. They may turn out to be okay but I don't want to risk it to be a beta tester.

It's a 45. You can shoot rubber bullets out of it and it's gonna ruin your day. Long as they cycle and function perfectly I'm good.

I never heard of Sig Sauer ammo before so I'm totally under my mushroom on that count.

I had problems with the Hornady critical defense. Problems manually unloading.....The Sig Sauer rnd has only bean around for a few months. It feeds real good. Sig does tend to put out a good product.

I don't feel undergunned with hardball in my PM45's.

I seriously doubt SIG itself is making it they are putting their name on anothers product. I would be curious who is the actual manufacturer. Rubber bullets probably won't permanently ruin anybodies day they will just make it a might bit painful is all.

There is very little info on the web about this fairly new round, but I did find this... http://blogs.militarytimes.com/gearscout/2014/04/11/sig-sauer-elite-performance-ammunition/ It seems that Sig is for the first time manufacturing ammunition, not just assisting in research. I went out today and fired another forty rnds of the 200 grn V crown ammo. It shoots really nice out of the CW 45. .... from the few reviews I did find online appears to be a decent hollow point. I got a few phone books together and I am going to shoot some more this weekend. I will see what the penetration is like in the books.

I have full confidence in this ammo just as I have full confidence in both my Sigs.

I'm glad somebody had somthing good to say about the ammo. I was using hydra shoc for a long while, it is good ammo but I like to shoot often and it was getting a little pricey. When I found the sig ammo it was a bit cheaper and it shoots great! I am going to do the phone book test this weekend and check out the penatration of it.

Still doubting. Will stick with known and proven performers from Hornady/Remington/Federal. Frankly unless a phaser comes out Critical Duty/Defense is my load of choice for every handgun caliber. Success begets more success.

Took my Sig SP2022 to the range today along with a few other of my handguns. It was perfect using the Sig Sauer 124gr. I'm sold on it.

I took my CW 45 out again and shot 20 more 200 grn sig v crown. Again it shot without issue. I took it out in the hills by my house and decided not to take any phone books. ( didn't want to make a mess.) But I like the cartridge! I have read quite a bit online about it and it seems to be ok. I am most likely going to use it as a self defense rnd.
