I just got a new to me used CW9, came with 3 magazines, two would not drop free of the gun so I decided to take them apart and clean them, I had the mags loaded with gold dots, I was ejecting the rounds with my thumb and all of a sudden all the rounds fell out the mag and I noticed the follower was bound up inside the mag, about a second later the follower shot up, I ducked , and a piece of plastic fell out, the follower broke at the front leg.
I have heard of this with the CM9 but didn't know the CW9 could have this problem, oh well, I'm waiting on a follower for my CM9, guess I will contact Kahr about one for my CW9.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. If it has broken two they would probably like the firearm sent back to them for repair. However the warranty only covers the original owner.
If one is the DIY type it is possible to modify the feed ramp. Just a gamble on screwing up a barrel. (~$150 for a replacement)

A small number do have that happen . I have 3 that have been problem free. Many guys don't know there broke tell they pay close attention or clean them up. You more than likely will need to send in back to have the feed ramp worked on OR with a used pistol dremel it back a a fuzz or two your self. Not a big deal really if you have a dremel kit. If you have some snap caps go ahead and give it a try . May load it down a 1 round . You may find it will shoot ok just to get use to it. Armor-all help mags fall free.

I didn't realize the CW line broke followers, I have owned 2 other CW9's and CW45's and a P9, never had an issue with followers, my CM 9 only cracked a follower, it's still holding up. Oh well, Jay said he was sending me a new follower.

Your description "I was ejecting the rounds with my thumb and all of a sudden all the rounds fell out the mag and I noticed the follower was bound up inside the mag, about a second later the follower shot up, I ducked , and a piece of plastic fell out, the follower broke at the front leg." mirrors something that happened to me with a CW9 magazine. In my case, I was experimenting with the mag and different springs to see if I could get an extra round in there. I was holding the follower down in the tube (under pressure from the spring) and inadvertently released it. The follower shot to the the top of mag with the front of the follower trying to escape the tube. This caused the follower to tilt, breaking the front skirt off. I'm positive the follower was good before I put it in the tube because I checked the spring fit immediately prior.
If I had to guess, I'd say yours probably broke in the same manner and is not related to the failures induced by the feed ramp on other guns. I've certainly had no other breakage of followers in my CW9.

Greg

Your likely correct greg, does anyone know how long it's going to take kahr to ship the follower, I emailed them a few weeks back about my cm9 follower breaking, Eolin refused to say when it would ship out, his response was "in a bit" Jay replied to my cw9 follower issue , says he is the supervisor, maybe I will see one of the followers "in a bit" I guess

In a bit means that they are temporarily out of stock but more should be coming in a bit. They use a lot of shorthand at Kahr Inc. :)

Oh well, guess that mag is out of carry service for a "bit", I'm going to try it out at the range to see how it works with the front leg missing, the follower slides forward "a bit" now that the leg is broken. The first round is difficult to get in but all rounds go in fine after that.

I took it out and ran around 50 rounds through it, had a couple of incidents where the slide didn't fully close on a round and a couple of FTE's, don't know if the mag had anything to do with it though, I have still not received anything from Kahr, I contacted them again via email asking if they knew where the CM9 follower is, Jay said it may have got lost in the mail and today Eoin said there is a shortage on followers and said I would recieve one shortly, My CM9 only has a cracked follower, the leg has not broken off like the CW mag did.
i guess I'll see the followers one day.

Well, one of my followers showed up today, I put it in my CW9 mag since my CM9 mag follower is only cracked and not completely broken.
