Oh, no. Here we go again. I expect to hear a lot of liberal whining about open carry. One of the waitresses looked like she was carrying a pair of 44s in an over the shoulder holster along with that rifle.

not diggn it. I think it marginalizes what we feel strongly about and capitalizes on a current hot topic. However, another way of looking at it is that it desensitizes people to the idea of guns also. I think the former is more impactful so no diggn it here.
When I read the subject line I was a little concerned what I would see here.

Interesting approach to waitressing and marketing (I guess). Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this. I support open carry and 2A...very much. If it were more common place here in NY, I would probably open carry more. In some states, open carry may be more of an accepted culture...and good for them....seriously. However, open carry in public here in NY is not an accepted culture and therefore it is not for me. For me, open carry has a time and a place. When I am in public I feel better knowing that everyone around me has no idea and consequently no preparation for the fact that I'm carrying. When the crap hits the fan, if the BG doesn't know I have a gun on me, it will be a huge surprise...and that gives me an advantage. JMO. However, as I said, if these waitresses are in a State with a culture that open carry is the norm, it is a great thing to see.

I think it's are more effective and acceptable if the employee's are open carrying rather than customers. The desensitizing will work, course that's just a tiny little ice chip in the iceberg of life but every little bit helps.
Course that's probably one of the area's in the country that still has a little common sense too. Don't recall where that was but there's a tiny bit of hope left.

Rifle is in the middle of Colorado. I'll bet the locals have no problem with open carry. Now, the tourists driving though on I-70 going from California to Aspen might be another story.

Back in the late 70s and early 80s I was a sales rep and traveled several western states. In these small towns, employees and patrons alike were openly carrying guns long before it became a "hot topic". In one little town in Colorado [I forget the name] the town marshall was tending bar while wearing his badge and carrying his six shooter on his hip [uniform was blue jeans and flannel shirt]. It's not unusual to see open carry in small towns in this part of the country.
