you owned the Walther P99, was that with the DA/SA "anti-stress" trigger? if you chamber a round and then press the decocker, it's DA, suitable for holstering? after the first shot is fired, it's SA until you run out of ammo or decock it again? if there's a misfire, a pull of the trigger tries to strike the primer again? if you buy a new Walther P99, there is no S&W markings on the gun, S&W is completely out of the picture now? thanks. marc

It's the same as a Kahr, with a preloaded striker, and a trigger pull of about 8lbs. and movement of about 0.31 inches to fire. After you are ready to fire, if you take the slide and move it back about a half inch, the trigger pull becomes " combat mode", which I never measured, but it felt like it dropped about half the pull weight. I have nothing bad to say about the firearm. I just prefer metal firearms over poly, and there is a lot of poly including the mag followers, which seemed cheap. With the different grip backs, I just couldn't get a good feeling grip with any of them. I traded it off. Just wasn't for me. The trigger was the best part of the firearm. I had an older one.

the "anti-stress", really, really safe trigger on the P99 is supposed to be for military and police, probably designed by a lawyer that specializes in negligent discharge cases. I have an old Ruger P89, which has a long DA first shot(the "warning shot"), then it's SA for the second to 16th shot, strictly business.
how many people have shot the Walther PPQ ("police pistol quick")? the PPQ trigger rocks, lots of fun on the range. if the gun is in a good holster and the owner is responsible and trained, I guess it could be a fine carry weapon. then again, the same could be said for a variation of the 1911.
