There's a .pdf floating around on various forums announcing a striker version of the LC9.
There are listing for it on Gun Broker as well.
The odd thing: at the moment there's nothing about it on the Ruger website (unless I missed it). It listed now:p: http://www.ruger.com/products/lc9s/models.html
The download links for the .pdf require being a member of that board and signed in:

Interesting. Still don't want one, but interesting.

"Interesting. Still don't want one, but interesting." yeah, that's about where I am too. one one end you have a gun like the SCYY(heavy, long pull, total double action) and on the other end is a 1911 variant(short pull, total single action), in the middle is all these hammer or stiker fired guns that have some amount of pre-cock. the Kahr is striker fired but kinda double action. the Walther PPX is hammer fired but kinda single action. then you could argue about how double or single action the Glocks and XD's are.
so it looks like the great minds at Ruger(current CEO is from the plumbing industry) have decided they needed to make the LC9 more "glocky" to boost sales. (anybody hear anything about what the great minds at Remington have decided to do with the R51?)

"Anyone who purchased an R51 may return it and receive a new R51 pistol, along with two additional magazines and a custom Pelican case, by calling Remington....."
wow! double damn wow! now that's how to treat customers. wish Kahr would have done that with the defective CW45's. (hey Greg, we should have bought Remington's, hehehehe.)

I have a Remington 1911 R1S that I'm very partial to:

Still, Kahr did make my CW45 right and the shop I bought it from covered the shipping so I am good with that.
I do think Kahr should pony up the shipping on the "short rails" 45s...even offering a shipping label at their cost to the customer would help.

Greg

I believe they will do just that. I don't know what happened in Marcinstl's case but they have been sending labels.
I too am quite fond of the Remington (love the look of yours). Mines blue and it's been riding with me this first week back at work and probably will continue to do so for awhile.
I like it very much. The Cbob is probably feeling neglected but I'll keep it happy.
The beauty of one platform is one holster, pick your choice of the day, they all work the same and off you go hi ho hi ho. The Ruger and the Desert Eagle 1911G are gonna get more belt time too. Share the love.......

what is the fault that requires a c omplete new pistol??? certainly sounds like a real safety issue. Just sayin

It requires a frame. Many who had the short rails GB included didn't even realize there was an issue. His worked flawlessly and was very accurate. Many were reluctant to even send them in because they had no issue.
The front of the frame rails getting worn and basically sharpening themselves was a clue that something wasn't right.
So maybe a safety issue but maybe not.
They are taking care of them. I still don't have a clue how many were effected by this issue.

ok, gonna load up the Ruger P89(41oz.. w/16 9mm) and tote it around for a day or so, see if this is doable or need to get my back adjusted. I recently bought a real gun belt, the CW9 is no test for that. so you guys carry a 1911 (48oz., w/9 .45acp)? if I can get this to work it opens up a whole new world of carrying really shootable guns, waaah! 1911's, 2011's, Glock 21's, CZ's,......

1911 all the way for me every day. PM45 on my ankle with or without the 1911.
Good belt makes all the difference. Nice and flat, cover easily with an untucked shirt.
Mine are all steel, one of them lightweight alloy jobs would be lighter but I like em steel.
I wore my Uberti Birdshead 45 Colt to a wedding last Saturday. Other side of the mountains so 9 or 10 hours continuous wear. It was pretty darn warm. Forgot it was there under a leather vest.
Tried to talk missus into letting me get a Schofield just for the wedding. Was NOT successful.

Suspenders are your friend, I pretty much always wear them when carrying anything bigger than a Ruger LCP for an extended period of time.

We gotta score you a Mernickle PS6 holster Greg. It'll be the last rig you ever need for that 1911.
Had mine probably 8 years or more and still my #1 favorite. I sometimes use my Garrett Silent Thunder for quick on/off but the Mernickle is tops.

OK guys I love my 1911's too but back to the post - There is a LGS advertising new striker fired LC9s with much better trigger at $359.95. I bought an original LC9 (thinking it was going to be a 9mm version of the LCP) when they first came out and hated the trigger and the LCI so much I sold it for a significant loss 2 months later. My CM9 fills that niche now.
Love the 45 automatics. Shoot 'em better than the Kahrs. But I Karry a Kahr. Just the way it is. But when I do carry one of the .45 autos, its usually in a Galco shoulder holster.
Dunno what to say on the R51. Glad they're addressing the issue. There were some frames that gave out in the locking area - bad deformation of the metal. Dunno about the rail issues.

Greg your styling. good looking gun and holster, the gun belt and suspenders make it all work. I like the belt clip suspenders. thanks for the photo.

to be fair to Ruger, I have to add this report. I was at the gun store this morning and got to dry fire the new LC9s, even compared it to the regular LC9. A) somebody at Ruger gets it and B) they figured out how to make a sweet trigger. all they need to do now is put that trigger on all their pistols. looking forward to the SR9c with that trigger.
