I just picked up a like new PM9 for my wife.
I noticed that when the slide stop is removed, the pin portion will spin within the slide stop.
Probably normal but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks

Normal. I have one that spins & one that doesn't.
Absolutely normal.
The lever part is a MIM component. It has a very hard, tough, ground pin insterted in it. There's a little cross pin that fits in a blind hole that holds the lever to the pin itself. The cross pin fits in a groove in the main slide stop pin, and this is what lets it spin. The slide stop pin is nickel plated, not stainless and will darken with use, especially if you modify either of its ends. And its one tough homre of metal. Resembles a core pin in the molding industry... very tough, with ground surfaces.
Hope that helps!
