So I purchase a CW380 and a CT9 last week and went to the range with both. I wish I had found this forum before I went and I might of had a better time. To start the CT9 went pretty good and fell in love with it even though after I got home and cleaned it this week end I found a broken follower, it seemed like a regular break in. As for the 380 it was a lot more diffacult to go threw more than 2 or 3 mags with out having some of the same problems that I have read about in other threads. I spent a lot of time reading over the stickies and looked at the 380 very close today. The first major problem I noticed was the slide lock lever hitting the round while inserting the mag.. I am shooting Remingtog UMC 95 gr. and it would be nice if I could find a differant load but am stuck with it for now. The side lock lever would move outwards about 0.020-.025 while inserting the mag and about the same when the slide was removed and cycling the loads out of the mags. I am confident about filing on gun parts and have done it before so this is not a problem for me . I shaved allmost 0.030 of the end of the slide lock that was contacting the side of the Rem UMC and feel that will prove to make my next visit to the range much improved over my last visit. I will post up how it goes but will wait til I get a new follower for the CT9 before I make my next trip. Thank You for lots of good info here.

Congratulations on your new Kahr firearms.

There's lots of broken follower information on this forum. Given that you broke one on the first outing, there's a good chance the gun will have to go back to Kahr for repair. They will likely send you another follower first, but if that one breaks it's back to Kahr.

Regarding the CW380, I had the same issue with FMJ rounds contacting the slide lock. Sanding and polishing seems to have fixed it. Good luck.

Congrats on both guns. Dont get discouraged with the 380. It likes good full charged loads for breakin. Ive had some minor issues with UMC in .45 in a well broke in cw45. I thing the UMC tends to run low on the power factor if you have any feed or eject problems with it.

smart guy, u did the right thing, I would call or email kahr atrtn; Jay and tell him your slide stop lever is hitting the rounds and engaging thelocking . They will more than likely send u a new on, then u willhave two.. again nice job of trouble shooting it to.

I have a lot of guns and experience and the Kahr P380 has been a real mistake. Has been to the factory and came back performing exactly the same. To break in it, I have oiled it well and shot over 600 rounds over several sessions (cleaned and lubed on every outing). FTF, FTE, slide locks back prematurely, striker protruding (blocked round) etc. I have used a wide range of ammo (my reloads function the best). Rarely cycle a full clip without issues. This is the only Kahr I have purchased. I see alot of negative reviews. I come to this forum seeking advice. Nice looking gun, perfect for pocket carry, nice trigger, great sights - but until it runs right, it's piece of expensive junk and not worthy as a carry gun (which is why I purchased it in the first place).

I'm sorry to hear that. If you provide a little more information on the history of the problems and what Kahr did when you sent it back, some of the knowledgeable guys may be able to offer some suggestions.
