View Full Version : Slide moves with trigger pull?

I just picked up a new CW380 yesterday, and was giving it a cleaning and inspection before I headed out to the range hopefully next week. I tried dry firing it a few times, and noticed that every time i pull the trigger, the slide moves rearward with the trigger. I don't think i've ever seen this on any other gun before and didn't know if it was suppose to happen. It doesn't move too much, maybe 1/8 to 1/16 of an inch. I can hold the slide in place and it won't move but it seems (can't tell for sure) to increase the weight of the trigger pull a little. Anyhow, just thought i'd check and see if I was crazy or if something might be a little off.

Thanks,
Jeff

I dont have a cw380 but have a cw45, cm9, and cm45. Sometimes my slide might move I tad upward but not foward or backward. I'd clean it well and shoot it to sed how it functions.

Mine did that when my striker was broken. Dan

Jeff, That won't happen with a magazine loaded and a round in the chamber. Try it with a snap cap, if you are not at the range. It's fairly normal to get some movement without pressure on the slide from a loaded mag ... All my Kahr's do it to a small extent. Some more than others. None of them do it when loaded and all shoor fantastic.

Welcome to the forum .... now go shoot that thing like you stole it!

just_jeff, my cw380 began to do the same thing after about 300 rounds, sent it back to Kahr, they replaced the recoil springs and it doesn't do that anymore. So evidently that's a sign of weak recoil springs.

Thanks for all the replies! I put about 300 rounds through it today and I think it was problem free. I say i think because 3x the slide locked after the first shot, but that only happened when my wife was shooting and i think she was resting her thumb on the slide lock lever. Other than that, not a single malfunction! Seems to shoot a little low, but maybe i'm just use to different sights.
