Hi Point Firearms, like having friends in low places. Had a Hi Point pistol back in the day and it fired every time I pulled the trigger, was reasonably accurate and of course ugly and heavy. No one at the range asked if I had the Hi Point with me, they always referred to it as the boat anchor. I was reading some of the forums and kept reading about this ugly thing called a 995TS. So I looked it and .....yep, it was a Hi Point. After some research I now know that the new one is not the planet of the apes carbine. You can guess what I did next. Went out and got me a 995TS and 300 rounds latter I can tell you this is the best $300 I ever spent on a fun gun. It is well made cheap so ugly and ergonomically challenged that you are surprised by the accuracy dependability this carbine delivers, and that is nice.

Yep! While I may be slightly embarrassed to pull it out, mine is reliable and fun as heck to shoot

Hi Point, brings new meaning to the term ghetto blaster.

Judging from the title I thought this thread was going to be about Glocks. [smile]

There is a particular High Point that a buddy of mine has been looking for.

Look at the post count, he can't yet. Use of screwgle (say it out loud) is recommended.

Luv my HiPoint 40S&W carbine. Goes bang every single time. Fun to shoot. LIFETIME factory warranty. Made in the USA. For the visually needy, here's a pic of initial sighting in:

I have to agree. My car gun is a HP 9mm. I've had it for years, and although I don't shoot it often, it is reasonable accurate and has never failed. It's basically indestructible and I don't care if it gets scratched or even if it gets lost. I also have a new style 45 carbine that replaced a older 9mm carbine that was stolen. It has also been trouble free and is accurate out to 50 yards which is as far as I have shot it.

Yep, what he said -- I told myself that if I found a .40 carbine to match my XD40sc truck gun I would buy it. Stumbled on a 4095 at the friendly neighborhood Pawn/LGS and have been very impressed with the reliability and accuracy of it. I tell my shooting buddies they can only laugh once when I pull it out -- after they shoot it they don't want to.

I wouldn't mind having one of their carbines, but don't tell anyone.

Don't you have to hold those Hi-Points sideways, or else they don't fire? :D

I know a couple of guys that are very pleased with the carbines. I'm still a S&W snob, so I am admittedly not a good judge on their pistols.
