I posted in this thread here (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?24616-P9-Barrel-Peening-Peened)about buying a P9 and didn't notice the badly peened barrel/slide. Called Kahr on Monday 8-10-14, got an RA number and sent it in on my dime. They got it on Wednesday 8-13-14 and I didn't hear a word from them and it a week later. I was wondering if they would do the work on a second hand pistol free of charge. Then the Fed-Ex man came to the door. Kahr customer service replaced the barrel, slide, recoil assembly, and milled the frame, + return overnight shipping FREE for nothing ! I've always liked Kahrs, got 4 of them, 2 bought new, and 2 bought used, but they have me as a customer for life !

Good to hear.. you say they made you pay shipping?? How much did that cost?
This doesn't really make me gasp in wonder. Kahr has a track record of doing the right thing for its customers. I think too, if its a case where they originally didn't manufacture things as well as they ought to have, they seem to have a certain pride, and sympathy, even when you're not the first owner of their product.
Alls well that ends well!

Kahr said Fed-Ex or UPS overnight. Fed-Ex is closer so I went with them. They gave me the option of within 24 hours @ $80.00 or 2nd day @ $37,00 so I went with the second day. I could have asked Kahr about doing it on their dime, but I figured since I'm not the original buyer ........ I'd be pushing it. The fact that they did all they did, + paid for return shipping, I'm deliriously happy. They also put new night sights on it though it is not noted in the paperwork.
When I called the rep asked for the serial # of the gun. Then he asked my name and address, then it got quiet while he looked some stuff up. I told him in front that I bought the gun second hand. If he looked me up in files he would have seen that I have 3 Kahrs that I bought new/retail and registered for warranty. Whether that cut any ice or not, I don't know.

Are you sure that you sent the gun to Kahr? That doesn't sound at all like the whining complaints that we usually hear about Kahr Service. Ya know it's funny, but I had the same kind of experience when I sent my P380 back to Kahr. Must be a fluke. (Insert smiley face here.)
They put a new frame on my PM45, in about 10 days, and exactly 200 serial numbers from the one I sent. That pistol has been perfect since then, eating up all the ammo I can afford to feed it.
