Interesting but not for me.

I saw the Kahr Viridian Reactor R5 green laser and prototype 3D printed holster at the NRA show in Indianapolis a few months back, anticipating the release since the show.
I ordered one from Optics Planet today, much cheaper than their Viridian Labor day introductory sale price by a significant amount. I don't know if we can post links on the forums, but the OP Product code is: UT-LS-R5GPC-R5-PM9-40 price $152.99
I have a Viridian Reactor R5 green laser & holster for my Ruger LC9/LC380. I really like it.
Besides pressing the buttons for on/off activation, you can set the laser to turn on automatically when you remove it from it's special ECR holster(s). When you re-holster the pistol, it automatically shuts the laser off, to preserve the battery.
This is the main feature that I liked the most compared to the other brands of integral looking red/green lasers. Just draw the pistol from the holster and the laser comes on automatically, if you set it at that mode. No fumbling with trying to activate the on/off button when you draw from the holster.
There is also a Strobe laser mode, which prolongs the battery life.
There is a magnetic switch built into the laser, and there is a magnet integrated into some special holsters, in a precise spot, that activates the magnetic switch on/off. Other holster manufactures are integrating magnets into their ECR holsters for the Reactor R5 and pistol combo. You can see the other holster brands available on the Viridian web site.
The one thing I didn't like about the design, was that the laser is positioned farther away from the bore of the barrel, compared to the other lasers in the marketplace. The other brands have the laser diode just below and closer to the barrel.
But, from my experience with the Ruger R5, it's not been a problem with zeroing and aiming at targets at various ranges.
The auto on/off feature from the holster is what sold me to purchase the R5.
The Kahr ECR holster I was shown at the NRA show is much nicer than the one that is included for the Ruger. Ruger is a soft goods front inside pocket holster type.
The Kahr holster I think is going to be injection molded plastic OWB style. I'm not sure as the prototype I say was 3D Printed ABS plastic. I figured Kydex would be too expensive for a packaged deal (freebie holster). I will see the holster when my Kahr R5 green laser arrives from Optics Planet.

No one "needs" one, but I have a CTL. Very useful device.

Indeed, no one "needs" a laser, but with a CTL on my P45, i could perhaps blind the perp. before shooting? At least i know where the gun is pointing without thinking about sights.
