Pm9 slide lock hard to operate

I just got a new pm9, i have cleaned gun, racked slide over 500 times etc i am having a problem with all my magazines but one. When i lock the slide back and then attempt to engage slide lock it is too hard to press. One magazine works but the others the slide release is too hard to press. I am guessing it is an issue with the magazines? How do i fix the problem?

Welcome to the forum.

When the magazine is empty its very difficult to do what you're trying. Its supposed to be that way. It ensures the slide stays open after the last round. The manual talks about it. Just drop the mag then close the slide or insert a loaded mag and you're good to go.

Plus... hand racking 500 times might help a little. But its not nearly vigorous enough to truely help the recoil spring mature.

Kids, why do they always have to slam the screen door? It doesn't do your gun any good to allow the slide to slam shut on an empty chamber.

load the magazine and I betit will release 100% easier. what the guys here stated is true. what ur actualy doin with an empty magazine is trying to now push down themagazine follower with that little lever. It is difficult as it should be, buyt with even one round in the magazine, the levber now is now tryingt o do anything but relaese itselffrom the notch in the side of the slide. It is now not touching the magazine in anyt way. Ur OK, u will figureit out and be ok.

This! Just got my CM9 today and there is a thing in the box saying the slide release is designed to be stiffer to let you know the mag is empty.

Muggs ol' bean, when you're prepared to have a serious discussion about the velocity of the slide on its forward stroke during hand held firing, vs the same velocity during slide release, and how any difference effects the parts, comparing the actual stress on the contact areas, give me a jingle would you dear boy?

And I guess you've never read your Kahr paperwork, as they themselves claim the practice of depressing the slide stop to close the slide - with no magazine in place - is just fine. Maybe someone can read it to you.
