Oldest son stopped at Cabela's on the way from work and bought her a Savage 22, forget the model, like the Chipmunk.
Thoughtful of him.
Grandma balked at a Cbob and baby photo but I did pull off a baby and bawanna bowie pic.

Congrats to the new family. Grandkids are a lot of fun, you can't spoil them enough. Hope you'll get to see her regularly and smother her with grandpa hugs. My oldest grandchild, she'll be 3 in Sept., calls me "Pa". I love it!
Start that college fund early, she'll need it.

Looks like the Colonel has a new love in his life. But she's a cutie. Make sure you instill a little bit of tomboy into her, so she can bait her own hook, and outshoot her boyfriends when that time rolls around someday.

If I live long enough to scare off a bunch of boyfriends for her my life will be complete. I love scaring off boyfriends very much. I even have friends that ask me to scare off their daughters boyfriends. I just lost one regular customer a few weeks back. She married one that didn't scare off easy. He's a good guy.
I did chase off 4 before he come along though. I was proud.
Sad thing is i wanted to marry her myself but she's same age as my daughter, just wouldn't be right ya know, cept maybe in Arkansas.

As many have mentioned, you have been wonderfully blessed. Grandchildren are a special kind of special. Only a grandparent REALLY understands this. The center of your universe just relocated to that gorgeous little girl. Congratulations.

Catching up on posts, Congrats Bawanna, she's beautiful.
B-man, what a double blessing!
Blessed once for her coming into the world. Double blessed for not looking a damn thing like you.
What a lucky kid! Better tell mom 'n dad to get fixed right away, no use pressin' their luck. They're one up on the good lookin' gamble, so better quit while they's AHEAD!
Congrats ol' man!

She was over yesterday for a tomahawk lesson, we both have a ways to go, I suck at throwing a tomahawk but I'll get it.

Just remember when it comes to the boyfriends its the rule of opposites. Try to run off the ones you like, and make her think the ones you don't are good to go.
Well done to the new family. You on the other hand, enjoy the grand baby, these folks are right you don't get the time back.

Just realized how crappy my yard looks in that picture. It used to be perfectly flat and nice, horses got out one night and held a dance marathon and with all the dry weather it's just awful.
No suspension in that power chair and after running back and forth chasing that stupid tomahawk my lower back is paying the price I'll tell ya.
Mom got a new horsey, his name is Ronnie. She rode him yesterday and he seems like a real keeper. He's a Morgan, told wife and daughter they should find a Morgan 20 years ago but nooooooo. Got a wonderfully smooth gait. Thought about rigging up a winch so I could get on but if he decided to eject me, that would be a horribly bad thing.
I'll stick to the training wheels on the Harley plan.

Looks like that sweet little lady is going to break lots of boys' hearts someday. And I'll bet she's got you wrapped around her little finger like a champ.
Too bad they grow up to be teenagers, but they do get over that too. My granddaughter will be 22 in November.
Take care of yourself so's you get many years of grandpaw duty in.
Better start lookin' for some .22lr for that little Cricket rifle to put in her Christmas stocking.

She got a Savage 22 (similar to the Cricket) the day she was born. I've got a Ruger Bearcat earmarked for her as soon as my Aunt decides to part with it. I got Chipmunks (pre cricket I think) for my 3 kids early on too. Oh I see 22lr. Yeah that's a good plan, might take till Christmas to find any. Might have to give her some of my meager stash.
They do grow up much too quickly. I was happy to be around long enough to have at least one. Hopefully maybe be around long enough to scare off a few more boys.
Still have a few friends with unmarried daughters who call on me from time to time to visit when boys come to call. The ones you can't skeer off seem to be good guys.

Bought Ruger 10/22 carbines for each of my three boys the days they were born - back when they were about $42.50 new.
Gave my granddaughter this little S&W .22 when she turned 18:
