Got my new CW380 today.... earlier the mailman dropped off the two additional mags I ordered.... Good day....
The only other Kahr I own is the PM9 so this will be my comparison of fit and finish...
First things I noticed when I received it is, the rear left tab below the slide is totally FLUSH, no design (molding) flaw there..
Secondly the mag sits completely flush to the handle, and I mean tight !!!
Thirdly the stippling on this gun isn't nearly as aggressive as my PM9.. feels really nice in the hand for a small gun..
Slide release seems to have more radius and isn't as squared off and as punishing as my PM9.. just tried it again to confirm
Lastly ALL THREE of the mags I have drop freely....!!! and the 7 round plastic baseplate is flush and squared with handle, no stupid cut that makes the mag appear its for another gun...
Can it be that Kahr has ramped up and met the demands, critiques and the flaws in their designs that customers have been ranting about??
In summary I feel this gun is superior in these areas than my PM9, who cares about the barrel, slide, rolled markings, machining I'm telling you this gun seems a better build than my PM..... and I have a funny feeling it will run right out of the box just like her too....
I'm going to IDPA tomorrow and intend to break this gun in after the match, I will throw 200 rounds down range without a single hiccup...
Just wait and see......
FWIW, the trigger isn't that much better than my LCP (dry firing) and I have the older non improved LCP...
Weight is almost 2oz heavier then the Elsie, but if it shoots, handles, and functions better than its a contender for some pocket time.. :)
Karh CW380 / 10.45oz - Ruger LCP 8.8oz with empty mags (per my scale)
