The ink hadn't yet dried on the police report, and I already had another PM9 inbound to replace the stolen one.

Some things have changed since I got my last brand new Kahr, so without further delay.... the unboxing

I like the new case design. Its more professional, more suited to the top shelf PM series.

No spent shell casing. Dunno if there's supposed to be one or not. Can't remember if my last new Kahr had one, it was about three or four years ago.

Note the THREE magazines! Way to go Kahr! Then again, they needed to make some distrinction between the PM and CM lines.

Shown in comparison to the S&W 640-1 I picked up for a song last week. Sadly, the LCR is also a replacement under the same circumstances. This is the third LCR I've purchased in what... two months? Of the three, this one was a little rougher at first, but smoothed up better, quicker than the other three. It is the nicest of them at this point in time. The LCR has a very nice trigger, no spring stacking, same weight of pull for the entire pull. The roughness you feel is NOT the trigger. What you're feeling is the hand pushing the cylinder, and interacting with a nice freshly cut, rough "star". The quick way to smooth that, is to cycle the revolver, by using the trigger (ie, dry fire) while adding just a little... and I mean just a little resistance to the cylinder rotation with the thumb of the non-firing hand. Do that for only ten or fifteen dry fire cycles. This will increase the force needed to spin the cylinder and the parts will deburr themselves nicely. Don't over do it!

And hey, BTW, the grip on the 640-1 came out great after being buzz-sawed off and smoothed out on the belt sander to final shape. A little 100g paper and handwork got the "fuzz" off. Yes, the inner metal plates show on the grip. No I don't give a rats rosette about that. I tried cold blue.... wouldn't touch the metal, so I'm guessing the inner plates are stainless.

Not sure why but I love that Smith. Enjoy your Kahr break in, it's a great excuse to fire 200 rounds!

Yah, I woulda gone black, but the price on those is relatively dear comparted to the bargain I got with the PM9 in natural stainless. Cheap bastardo that I am... I went with what I had before. I guess there's a glut of silver on the market right now.

J-man, I'm sayin' that they now come standard with three magazines. This is also stated on the Kahr website.

If you think about it a little, Kahr came into competition with itself with the CM/CW/CT series. When you can get a CM9 occasionally on sale for as low as $299 bucks, ay-caramba, rancia tetas grandes amigo! Thats a brace of "Jackson Fives" (or two hundred bucks) less than the best price on a PM9. So for two hundred extra clams, they need to grease the customer with somethin', ya know? The barrel rifling and dovetail sight ain't gonna cut the mustard to make up the difference, and nobody gives a horses rosette about the lettering anyway. Hell, some folks like the CM/CW/CT lettering and styling better! So, two "extra" mags, and a nice case is at least somethin' to ease the achin wallets of those of us who prefer the PM to the CM, for reasons of insanity, wealth, O/C tendancies, or sheer stupidity.
