When shooting the barrel stays open after each shot - used different amo, magazines, etcc. Any ideas? thanks Bill

The barrel should stay open after each shot, otherwise, how does the bullet get out?:third:

Thumb hits slide release. Wrist not locked . Check magazine. Be sure follower slides up and down easily and spring was not installed backwards from factory. Follow guidelines on prepping a new Kahr. Report back if problem remains.

Lock open the slide. Slowly insert a loaded magazine. Look down into the left side of the breach as the top bullet comes up. If it touches or comes close to any part of the slide stop, that is most likely the problem. Disassemble the pistol and gently with very fine sand paper/emory cloth remove and smooth out the part that touched the bullet. Most likely it is the part the arrow points to in the picture. Note that even if the bullet does not touch during this test, when fired the violence may knock the next to load round into the slide stop. Bullet shape matters. I've had good luck with Hornady's conical bullets for carry, although after sanding even flat nose bullets cycle fine.
