I probably have 4,000 to 5,000 rounds through my CM9. Lately after I disassemble it for cleaning, when I try to install the slide back onto the frame, the slide is catching somewhere and won't push back far enough to install the slide-stop lever/pin. If I wiggle and push and pull and shake the slide enough, it eventually unsticks and pushes back. But I have been unable to figure it out what is causing the binding.

Once reassembled, the pistol shoots fine, and it disassembles without problems. I've tried reassembling with an empty mag in the gun, and without a mag in the gun. I've tried pulling and releasing the trigger while pushing the slide onto the frame. Doesn't make a difference, the slide is getting stuck on something.

Help!

Take a look at the frame rails in the front. Mine did that and I found that the rail looked worn.....It broke off soon thereafter, requiring a new frame.

I'll check that this evening.

But yikes. What it did it cost you to fix?

I don't have a CM but my K's and my PM45 require that I have the recoil assembly placed just right. It's not exactly center but it has to be just right for it to go on.

I also have to tickle the trigger a bit sometimes to get it to go. I'd had it apart many many times and I still struggle a bit from time to time.

I have had the same experience as Bawanna. I am a symmetry kind of guy, so I put the recoil rod and spring dead center as I reassembled the CM9, and had trouble wiggling the slide back into position. After I looked closely, I realized the rod actually should lay slightly of one side (my right, as I look at the slide from the underside and barrel-end).

When I put it there, the rod is parallel to the sides of the slide, and the slide goes right back into position "slick as a whistle"!

Hope that works for you.

That's the way my MK works as well........................................

Thanks, everybody. I will give your suggestions a try this evening and report back.

It's important to maintain patience and avoid large hammers and such. I know this to be true.

Ease into it. It's like just the tiniest adjustment and it works slicker that bulldog slobber.

It can frustrate the heck out of ya. You'll get it though.
