Last Sunday in a concealed carry class my E9 slide stop broke, rendering it a single shot. It is my first Kahr, bought new in 2004. In 2005, after 352rds, it broke the first slide stop. Kahr sent a replacement part which has lasted 1000rds. I believe both were MIM parts. Used my K9 to finish the class.
This is really about my call to customer service. Monday morning it took about 60 seconds after dialing and I was speaking to a live person. I explained about the slide stop, there was a pause, then he requested my mailing info. Think the E9 caught him off guard. Then I explained the issue with my new CW380, after 400rds, still not going into battery consistently. Was told they would send recoil springs for the 380 and a slide stop for the E9. Also if the springs didn't correct the CW380 problem I was welcome to send it in to be looked at. Took all of 5 minutes to take care of business. Was feeling pretty good about Kahr service at that point.
Feeling even better now about Kahr service. Parts came in the mail today, Saturday. Slide stop looks good, it's stamped K9. The outer spring for the CW380 has about 1 more coil of length and the inner has 3 more coils. Looks like they will do the trick, having lots more tension than originals. Real pain to get guide/springs assembled in gun initially, as the end of the small spring partially blocked the hole in the slide. Took some of the "coil" out of the end, then it cleared the hole. Hope this turns the CW380 into a keeper. Will report in CW section.
