My K9 hits about 2 inches low at 10yds using the white dot on the center of the target. My E9 is dead on, with a Dawson tritium front. Would like them both to shoot to the same POA.
Can anyone tell me the height of an MK9 front sight. If it is shorter than the .170 of my K9, I'll swap out sights to raise the impact. If not, I may lower the rear sight notch on the E9. I see the part numbers are different for the K9 and MK9 sights. Thanks.

I have 3 frame sizes and all 3 have a .140 wide .170 high front sight. Your nigh sight is ether a .165 or .155 tall model , Porbably a .155 if 2" difference in groups at 10 yards . Note on dawsons site its also thinner.
You could get to a hardware store and buy a dial caliber to measure with. Cost is low and if you even plan to reload you will want one. Buy with a dial NO Electronic model. Hope this helps.

Using an archaic way of measuring ie. a flat ended brass ruler, I get about 3/16 " or .01875 for the height of my MK9 sight, I'm thinking that with accurate measurement, it's probably .180.............

I have the same issue with my new P380 with N/S. I don't know if they make a shorter front sight for mine though.

It could be that you are anticipating recoil. Breaking the wrist down could be what's causing the gun to shoot low. IMO, 2" @ 30 feet is not a game changer in a gun fight. Two center mass will slow anyone down and make them think twice about continuing the fight. In a SHTF situation you may not even notice the front sight.

Thank you for the suggestions and advice. I think I'll just file down the K9 front sight till it impacts the same as the E9 with a 6 o'clock hold. If I mess up a replacement sight from Kahr is $6.60 plus shipping. By the way, Dawson offers 8 different heights of front night sight for the CM/CW Kahrs. They also have 5 different heights for the new style dovetail, but only 1 for the old style dovetail on my K9.

Werd that the K9 is the old sight design. Filing always works then get the height right and then you can measured if you want a replacement site.

My K9 was manufactured in 2001. Don't know when the dovetails were changed.

Ditto that. I keep seeing complaints like this come up. This may be important in competition shooting but "In a SHTF situation you may not even notice the front sight." which is what the Kahr is built for. I wouldn't even be concerned about shooting 2" low at 10 yards. IMO, I'd be more concerned about grouping in the center of mass. YMMV.
