The front sight on my CW45 fell off a couple weeks ago. The post with screw in it snapped off. Since it had Trijicon on it I contacted them and they gave me a return authorization number. I sent it back to them on my dime only to have it returned with a note that said there warranty would not cover it. They said even though their name is on them they don't make the sight, Kahr sends the sight to them and they just install the lamp. I don't know why Trijicon didn't just tell me and save me the postage! Sight will be replaced with Dawson Precision tritium front sight. I will let you what I think of it.

Wow! I did not know that. Something to remember in the future for all of us.

Kahr would probably send you a replacement if you wanted to try that route. I've heard nothing but good about Dawson Precision, they sound like really good folks and great to deal with. I have no first hand experience but many here have.

Just wondering which front sight did you order for your CW45? my CW40 shoots a tiny bit low to point of aim (perhaps 2in low at 7ydrs), but I have pushed enough bullets down the barrel now that I adjust automatically as the range extends. With Dawson offering so many front sight heights I am curious what other Kahr shooters find is the right height for them.

Looking forward to an update after install and shooting. Thanks for the thread.

Planedude,I ordered the .180 tall because it was closest to what was on mine(.175 tall)and mine has always been about 1" high at the range.
Bawanna, gun was bought used(face to face in Texas, no records) so I didn't think Kahr would replace.

Likely Kahr sold your gun to a distributor/dealer and is only required to keep the date and serial number for their records. I doubt Kahr verifies the ownership of each gun sent to them for repair work. They're only interested in whether the gun is still under warranty.

Did you buy this gun with the sight already installed? Because as far as I know, new ones only come with the stock sights.

Sorry to hear of the trouble- I swapped out the sights on my CM9 and was really concerned with how easily the stock front snapped off with almost no pressure. Biggest negative for the CM/CW line IMO.

Received Dawson Precision sight in the mail, came with good instructions and a tool to stake sight on. The sight doesn't have a screw in one post like Kahr sight,it is staked on by both posts. Instructions say to use red locktite and stake it on. Sight has a wider area at base to put against vise when staking, works great. Looks like a more secure way to attach the sight. Also it has Trijicon lamp in it so sight picture is the same as with Kahr night sight.
AH.74, gun was bought used and had night sights installed by previous owner.
