Hi all, I'm new to this forum and to Kahr ownership. I traded a SW Shield for the Kahr CM9. I'm law enforcement and was looking for a smaller off duty and backup weapon. I have put 164 round Thru the CM9.
The pistol has performed flawlessly accept the last few mags. It started to break the mag followers and has broken two of them in a row. I also noticed today that the white painted post in the rear sight is missing. I called Kahr today and got a return authorization number. At first Kahr did not offer to pay shipping to them until I assisted and without argument they emailed me a shipping label. So far I'm pleased with the service.
Is the rear sight losing the paint and the broken followers common? I assume the broken followers is going to be an easy fix. Well so far I'm pleased with the pistol. I have confidence that these problems can and will be fixed.

Lots of posts on broken followers. Supposedly the feed ramp is too long. It has been happening for a long time. Did the paint come off the sight after you cleaned the gun or sometimes I've read where it just falls off. Kahr should fix your gun so it functions correctly in 2 to 3 weeks just a guess.
Agree with above. I also like my Kahr better than my Shield. Smaller, but same length barrel. I have grown to much prefer the Kahr trigger.

Thanks for the responses. To thelastdaze. I don't consider my CM9 as used. I have only had it for about two weeks and think that Kahr should cover all expense. Now I'm not griping I like the pistol and I'm pleased with the service. Sometimes things need to be fine tuned and kahr did cover the shipping Back to the factory. I'm just going to miss it

1. Solvents, especially the brake cleaning solvents often espoused on this forum, will easily wash away the paint on these sights.
2. Yes, broken followers have been a common problem. Kahr has been responsive in making corrective modifications to guns that have broken two or more followers.

Welcome to the forum!
I had a few issues with my then new PM9. With a new part and a mag. exchange from Kahr and help from folks here one KahrTalk I was able to get it fixed and running without issues.
Great carry & BUG once they're running reliably.

I've own a CM-9 for several years now and have put thousands of rounds through it. While it had a few minor hiccups during the break-in it has been flawless ever since. Kahr makes a great concealed carry pistol and I'm sure that you'll be happy with yours. I carry a P380 as a back-up to my CM9.

Received a call from the Kahr Gun smith working on my CM9 today. He advised me that he just came from the range where he fired 30 rounds with no failures and no follower problems. He advised he rounded the feed ramp to prevent the breaking follower issues and replaced both my followers with new ones. He advised the new ones are stronger. I also decided to get the night sights instead of replacing the factory sights. I should receive the pistol back home on Thursday. That will be one week turn around. I'm pleased with that service. I also feel Good about being able to speak with the gunsmith. The call was probably mostly due to the night sights being added. I let all know how it turns out when I get it back on Thursday.

Follow up , I just received my CM9 back from Kahr. The night sights look great. Went to the range and put 72 rounds through the pistol with 0 malfunctions. My followers held up great. pistol shoots a little high but I can adjust for that. The pistol breakin round count is at 266 rounds. I'm very pleased with this weapon. It is now ready for service.
