If you think that looks weird wait till you see the CM380...I figure its going to be 5+1 and a one finger grip;)
This must be Kahrs answer to the G42 and LC380 ??? Must be a market for bigger 380's???

I dunno - they list it as 5.3" tall......my CW45 is 4.8".
Can that be correct?

YES!!!! I got the real estate to hide that thing for CCW (it is skinny, I am not...) and the recoil will be squat..... This is going to be a great pistol for first time centerfire shooters....WOOO HOOO..... Newbie training pistol extraordinaire!! Hate to press it, but the iron is hot, now Kahr needs an MK380 or K380...Steel framed .380 with .22 recoil....LOL
Think about this, the slide should be EASY to rack, Good for weaker handed people....
The recoil will be VERY controllable, good for new shooters...
The trigger will be a Kahr, Good for anyone and no safeties/minimal controls for people transitioning from revolvers/.22 semis
It is still .75" wide, easily concealable...
Weight loaded should be less than 1LB, and it will fit (with some muzzle hang out) in P/CW380 open bottom holsters..... Already some of those out there, a big problem with new pistols..
7+1 .380 is not something to sneeze at, especially as fast as it will be able to be fired with accuracy according to my CW380 experience....
The lasers and such from the P/CW380 should all fit....
SOMEONE will make a CT380 COVERT with a cut down on the frame......
I think this is a great step for Kahr, I honestly would like to see an 8 or 9+1 round, 4" barreled .380 from Kahr, all of the above, plus the increased velocity and shoot ability from that size pistol....

I think that's right. The market is – -women.This gun will be good for a lot of people, but I think the largest untapped market for carry firearms is newer female shooters, and this combo is the sweet spot.

]I really don't know about this new kid on the block... To me the gun seems a bit too big for such a weak calibre. Personally I am happy with the smaller P380, but I can certainly understand that there is a potential market for it.

What's not to like? It's shorter, thinner, and lighter than a Walther PPK/S in cal. .22LR. I think that Kahr has another winner here. I'm thinking misprint on the height. I'll bet that the gun is actually a 1/2" longer and and a 1/2" Higher than the 6+1 P380. It only weighs 1.5 oz more than the P380. You'll gain one more round and have a place to put your pinky finger. It should still fit quite nicely in my RF pocket.

I think there is a market for the larger .380's. Not everyone is in need of a maximum caliber boom stick for EDC...... The .380 fires the same caliber, but lighter bullet as the 9mm, at a pressure of 21,000 psi compared to the 34,000 psi of the 9mm. Less boom/recoil (locked breech) and more shots on target from newer shooters. I am fine with carrying a 9mm, but if my wife could not actuate the slide or handle the recoil, what is the point? If I had a "larger" .380 (still WAY smaller than say a Glock 19) that she could shoot and actuate the slide on, I am fine with having that as our only pistol, as we can BOTH use it effectively, and it is still concealable. Do not fall into the trap of Complimentary Projection (http://changingminds.org/explanations/behaviors/coping/projection.htm) and think everyone can do as you can, 9mm is a big caliber to many people out there. I wont even start on the .45, but at least it is a lower pressure round like the .380...
I am not trying to start a caliber war, the thing is, having a pistol is the first step in a long process of being an effective user of the same. I think plenty of people get to this easy stage (just have to purchase it), but do not become lifelong shooters as the pistol is too much for them to effectively master by themselves. A pistol like the CT380 is one that you can buy as a first pistol that will not overwhelm a new shooter, nor will it be outgrown in its effectiveness as the .380 is already a minimally effective round, even according to the "experts". Is it for everyone? In my opinion, yes, if you want a centerfire pistol that you can conceal, shoot and enjoy......

My wife carries a Bersa Thunder .380 for all the reasons you stated. There is a market for light recoil, larger .380 weapons. I read something the other day about the majority of new shooters being female. Everybody wants a piece of the pie.

I do get those points. Given that it will probably still have the same slide set-up as the CW series, the recoil springs may still make the slide a bit heavy for women to manipulate. My wife has a bit of trouble with my CW380 (although, it's easier than the CM9).
EDIT: I didn't realize this had a longer barrel. Maybe that will make the slide easier to rack.

3 inch barrel with buffalo bore ammo would be a winner. Not a weak round just try some for yourself from a 12 ounce handgun.

One would think that there will be fewer problems with this CT model since it has a longer slide than the CW.
Was going to eventually acquire a CW380, but this CT looks more interesting to me.
I do think the 5.3" height dimension as stated in the specs is a misprint. Wonder how long it'll take them to correct it?

that's what I'm thinking.....
you can count me out on this one, I'm a Glock fan and I didn't run out and buy the 42 after I compared it to the size of my LCP...

Just what we needed, a Kahr to compete with the Glock 42 that nobody wanted..

The Kahr is a single stack and slim. The Glock is Fat and ugly. No comparison, Pointblank.

hmmmm? following Kahr's logic, a CT380 would hold 8+1 and have a 4" barrel? a P380 or a CW380 is a pocket pistol. the CT380 is a night stand gun?
I think there's a misprint in the Kahr info. then again I never understood .380 anyway.

I would have preferred that they figure out how to make a reliable CW380 before they came out with this. [emoji1]

Nobody wanted the G42? Dealers can't keep them on the shelves. Reminds me of Casey Stengel: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."
