I've put off listing this here on KahrTalk for a while, but the time has come to get serious about trying to sell it. My wife wants me to reduce my gun footprint in the house, and this is the gun that gets used the least. The E9's were sort of a poor man's K9; and as best as I can tell it was made back about 1997.

Apart from the one blemish that you can see in the picture, the gun is in very good shape. I can't say anything about the round count, as I don't know anything about its history prior to me. It doesn't appear to be beat up in any way, so I doubt that the round count is extremely high. I've had it a little over a year, and I have not had any issues with it. I have put maybe a couple of hundred rounds through it. One thing I will say is that it's trigger is like butter. It is a very very smooth shooting and accurate gun.

It comes with one (1) magazine and no box and no papers. I'm asking $400 shipped to your FFL.

RR,

That's the only reason that I prefer the K9 to the E9: the stainless slide doesn't show those innocent boo-boo marks. Otherwise, they are the same IMHO. But that's a great bargain for an all-steel Kahr. Someone's gonna get a sweet shooter. Rev...I think you just need to find a better hiding place. That gun's a keeper. Just sayin'. :)

What is the difference between the E9 and the K9? Is there any way to confirm the 1997 year? (1997 was a good year for me)

Rev, unless you have bought more guns (or ammo) than i have we have got to work on this situation. You need to keep it. Invite her here and she'll see we're not so bad. Just keep her away from jocko's and muggy's post if she's sensitive to those kind of things. And politics too maybe. Have her read everything Greg posted as he's a good influence on us and if she is subject to flattery bawanna will flirt with her (but it will be in the most gentlemanly mannor). We'll tell her you're our spiritual advisor and for you to keep that position of respect you need to keep it, like Paul you know "become all things to all men that by all possible means you might save some." I'll even let her talk to my wife as long as the topic stays on guns and doesnt gravitate to shopping, makeup, or dresses since that cost more than guns do.

What do you think?

After a closer look at the serial number thread, it's apparently not a 1997 year model. Based on the serial number, the list can only give me a guesstimate of the year of production, and it looks to be around 2003. I say around as the list doesn't have anything that matches the serial number exactly.

As for the difference between the E9 and the K9, I only know what I've read here on Kahrtalk. The main difference is simply the fact that the E9 is the cheaper version of a K9 ... and in the case of the E9 I have, it's a Duo Tone. I say cheaper because, for one thing, the front site is fixed, etc. One nice thing, though, are the rubberized grips which my E9 has, which are apparently highly desirable.

And you just gonna leave us hanging like this with not additional information?

There's a crime here somewhere.

" My wife wants me to reduce my gun footprint in the house, and this is the gun that gets used the least." *****traded locally for another gun****..........................If this is how you reduce a gun footprint in a house, I need you to come over to my house to explain this to my wife. Although she usually never complains when I get a new firearm, I usually trade another. I need you to explain how to keep your firearm, and get a new one. You seem to have the knack of reducing a gun footprint, with out changing the total of said guns:o

Im guessing he traded for a smaller gun since he needed to reduce the gun footprint.;)

Good move Rev.

I love you guys ... in a totally appropriate way! So here goes. I had been trying to sell my E9 for several months on Armslist, but to no avail. I would get emails from people, who would then never respond back, or if we did talk, they often had no clue that here in Connecticut you actually need a permit to buy a gun. Anyway, today I went shooting with a friend at a not-so-local gun shop, and they had a blued Walther PPK .380 in the used gun rack. I had actually been looking to sell my stainless PPK/S to buy a blue PPK, so I decided on the spot to do something. I had the E9, plus a $125 gift certificate, so I went and did the dirty deed. It's true I still have four guns, but I'm thinking that it might be easier to eventually sell the PPK/S than the E9 ... only time will tell. The Tazmanian Devil is correct, though, I did swap the E9 for a smaller gun, so my overall gun footprint is smaller.

Hey if his wife buys any of this, I'm totally on board with the whole thing. Works perfectly fine for me.

"Bless me, Colonel, for I have sinned." This line just knocked me over though, I'm still kind of chuckling some.

Kind of reverse role going on here.

Ok Rev, say 10 Hail Mary's and 5 Our Fathers, god loves you and forgives you and if you send me 20 bucks each month I will NOT say anything to your wife.

$50 for the PPK/S (and I won't tell her what you did) ;)

As long as you have the wife going for that good for you. I like that logic... i think I've done kinda the same thing twice recently.

Well, it turns out I was right ... I tried to sell my E9 for 6 months and never really got even one serious nibble. But I sold the PPK/S in 3 days for my asking price. So I am now down to my wife-acceptable limit!
