So, as stated in another thread, I had my first outing with my new MK9 and got 60 fault-free rounds through it - it performed flawlessly. 60 rounds down, 140 more for it to be considered fully broken in.

Meanwhile, I bought a set of snapcap dummy rounds to practice clearing jams should they happen - and man, that spring is stiff! It's not easy racking the thing to clear a jam.

Does it get easier as the gun gets further broken in?

It will! Mostly you will refine your technique and get stronger. :biggrin1:

yes it does but u will get better also with learning from ur mistakes. Kahrs recoil springs are strong they do lighten up but again, pracrtice does not make perfect but perfecxt pracrtice does. U have a good idea and practice situation with dummy caps. I like to call them snap caps, as some of my kahr friends are DUMMY'S and snap caps shouldnot be associated with these kind of peoplej. Just sayin

I started breaking it in during a shooting class at a local gun range, in case it gave me any trouble. Got the idea as they had an advanced shooting class that would teach clearing jams using snap caps. So, I got all equipped, tried to sign up for the class, and then they didn't offer it any more. So, I just figured, "Who needs the class?"

I've a Walther PPK/S I liked a lot - except for it was only a .380, and had the safety on the wrong side (I'm a southpaw). The MK9's a 9mm, doesn't need a safety, and is the same size & weight of the PPK/S. Nice gun.

Racking the slide on a Kahr pistol is nothing that a real man can't handle, but having forearms like Popeye don't hurt either. Wanna see my tattoo?

Okay, I'll start doing 20 "clear jam-ups" every day until I have forearms like Popeye. But NO anchor tattoo and for godsake, NO Olive-oil!
