Went out to shoot my CM9 today and about 40 rounds into it the slide didn't lock back after the last round. Didn't think much about til it happened on the next 3 mags.
I field stripped it and noticed this tiny, and I mean tiny, piece of lint/debris in the area of the slide stop spring that holds the slide stop in. I blew the debris out, reassembled the gun, and after that it locked back every time after the last round was fired. I tested it out by only loading 1-3 rounds for the remainder of the 100 round box.
I must say the design for keeping the slide lock in with the spring and a screw that screws into plastic is moronic. Someone did not think that one through. It's a problem just waiting to happen. The screws star pattern on mine is stripped from having to adjust the tension when I first got the gun.
If you carry your Kahr for self defense make sure it is spotless.

Your personal opinion may differ from those of others on this website. The system works. If you only came here to complain, go away. :p

It's only a guess, but I suspect your erratic lock-back problem is more likely to be caused by this than a speck of lint.

I'm at 1000 flawless rounds through the gun. This is the 1st time the slide didn't lock back after firing the last round.
It's not the threads that are stripped on the screw it's the star pattern on the screw which is stripped. Sorry for not communicating that clearly. Changed it in the original post.

The system was designed back when all Kahr frames were steel. It seems to adapt OK to polymer. If you are careful. Glad it's back running OK for you.

I second your recommendation to keep your Kahr clean. IMHO all carry firearms should be kept spotless. Except for maybe the debris from a test fire.
