I just wanted everyone to know that I just did my patriotic duty and voted a straight republican ticket on an Ohio absentee ballot. I couldn't find a single conservative democrat to vote for. Vote early and often is my motto. :)

Good for you! I voted Republican by absentee ballot on the Arizona Primary a few weeks ago. This is an important year to vote in the general election to break the deadlock in the Congress and take the Senate leadership away from Harry Reid. The Dems will be trying to stay in power by rallying their supporters to turn out. They were really effective during the last Presidential election when they re-elected a President who doesn't want to lead and the nation was economically in a financial hole. Elections have consequences so vote wisely.

Be an intelligent voter and don't vote along party lines but for the best person!

PS - Time to fire the entire US House and US Senate for incompetence.

In a perfect world, you are absolutely correct. Unfortunately the old cliche: "the worst republican is still better than the best democrat" very much applies today.

the democratic party is aggressively anti-Bill of Rights and the best democrat will cave in and tow the party line when pressed. Conversely, the weakest republican can be counted on to defend your rights. His easiest course is to follow the republican agenda which is pro-Bill of Rights.

Right now we need numbers so, please, get out and vote...and think of the big picture. Thanks.

No.

I'm pretty disgusted with the mainstream R party. But, as Obama himself says, every one of his programs and policies is on the ballot. Every vote for a D is a vote for those policies. Every failure to vote, or write in vote, or vote for a 3d party candidate is a 1/2 vote for those policies.

If the country is to survive the next 832 days we have to do everything possible to impede Obama's agenda. Vote the straight R line, even for dog catcher.

Absolutely. In my state most judges are on a retention ballot. Vote yes or no. I have always voted NO for every judge.

I too am POed at the Republican party. Why can't they get it together? Once again the Dems are well organized while the Repubs go on in-fighting. I will still vote straight Republican at I am sick, tired and fed up with the Democraps.

I did vote for the best person and in every case it was the republican candidate. Not one of them wanted to take my guns or raise my taxes. None of them tried to tell me what to eat or drink, or how much water my toilet could flush or what kind of light bulb I had to use. They defended my right to free speech even if what I said might offend someone. They all seemed like a bunch of fine guys and gals and all of them could tell the difference between the two. Not one of them supported gay marriage or abortion on demand. All of them saluted our flag and had respect for our men and women in uniform. They're my kinda people.

I usually vote Republican for most offices that are important. For some state and local offices, I'll vote Libertarian if one is running.
With some candidates, you may as well vote for a Democrat, where you have RINO's running for office, but then again, even a RINO would be an asset, if it would help us put the Senate back into Republican control. I just wish they would put term limits in place. I think 2 terms in the Senate is plenty. I just feel like the longer term members are mostly "owned" by some corporation, or lobby. I am really getting sick of Pat Roberts and his "canned" responses I get when I contact his office. That often have little to do with what I wrote him about, but is a general reply that is probably sent out to everyone that writes him about a department, or a statute. I wrote him about the FDA being the lapdog of Big Pharma and that I thought this was unethical, and got a letter back extolling the virtues of the FDA, and how they provide us with the safest drugs in the world, which is total BS. Why did Ronald Reagan have his Colon Cancer treated by a German Dr. with access to things not readily available in the USA? Others say the CIA imported substances the FDA had banned or tried to sweep under the rug, to treat President Reagan with. Anyway, you notice there was no Chemo, Radiation, or Surgery, as most of us are subjected too.

How does everyone feel about Orin Hatch of Utah taking over for Harry Reid? I think we could do worse.

I agree with you on Orin Hatch, Tman, but don't vote for a libertarian. It's the same as giving your vote to the democrats. The republicans need every vote that they can muster if were going to turn this country away from progressive democrat socialism.

Please do not waste votes on third parties, believe me being from NY I know how frustrating Rhinos can be but unfortunately in this broken system they are still the best choice.

I wouldn't be much help in that regard, AJ. I'm good at putting them down, but you'd have to pack them out. At my age they don't call it an erection, it's more of a resurrection. :)

I always vote for the most conservative candidate that has a chance of winning.
