I carry my PM40 most of the time but there times when I would like to have a little less also. I have narrowed it down to either Ruger LCP or Kel-tec P3AT both are 380 ACP, does anyone have experance with both and if so which one would be recomended?
Thanks for input.

ive been eyeing the seecamp and people really give positive feedback for it. the only problem for me is that they only make a ma compliant version in .32 and i think thats too small. as long as u live in a free state you should be able to get the 380. i have handled them and they are the best quality "pocket" pistol i have seen.

I traded my seecamp .32 for my current CW40 and later bought a Ruger LCP for pocket carry....The seecamps are great little pistols but the .380 caliber is hard to find and you will pay a premo price for one....The .32 caliber is much more available and can be found in my area every so often used for $450.00 plus....The NAA Guardian and the new Micro Desert Eagle look interesting and the Taurus 738 tcp looks nice too.... I really like my Ruger LCP and for the money I don't think you can beat it...I would stay away from the Kel Tec P3AT if I were you but some people like them...Hope you find one that you like and good luck finding ammo....

Many people prefer the seacamp in 32. They seem to run better and longer. The 380 supposedly needs the recoil spring replace quite frequently.
We recently had a MIcro Desert Eagle sent down for us to test and found it had many many issues. Just didn't want to run, bad trigger. It was a nice size and I was sad that is was so dissapointing. It could have just been a bad one too.
We also tried the Taurus 738 and were very very pleased with it. Incredibly nice trigger, very good reset even for this type of pistol. Feels good in the hand and plenty accurate. I think we've purchased 4 of those so far.
A couple of the guys tried the Ruger and were not impressed, again I think the trigger was the main issue, again I was sad cause I like rugers as a rule.
Getsome nailed it on the ammo thing. The dealer we use almost exclusively and is extremely well stocked had zero 380 even to test the guns they sent down with. Had to really scrounge to find it. Rumor has it that things are improving slightly. I try to watch for it for the guys here that have them but prefer to stick to the half inch stuff myself.

I have the Ruger LCP and love it.... Keep it lubed and it runs great. The Taurus 738 TCP is also a nice firearm.. The same size as the LCP so if you like Taurus over Ruger you cant go wrong with that one too.... Yep, ammo for them is limited though.

I have the P380 and for me I did have to deciede between the LCP and the P380. Here are the reasons I went with the Kahr.

1. I like the trigger on the Kahr
2. The Kahr pointed better than the Ruger
3. The sights on the Kahr can actually be seen vs. the Ruger.
4. The slide locks open on the last round on the Kahr, not so on the Ruger
5. The Kahr inspired confidence when i held it and I did not have that with the Ruger
6. The ruger stung my hand when I shot it and it was not comfortable to shoot.

Between those two choices it would be the Ruger hands down.
It's a much better made gun than the Kel-tec and will require
less pampering to get to run.

I had an LCP and it shot very well, was extremely reliable out
of the box and had actually pretty decent trigger after a couple
hundred rounds. I sold it when I bought my PM9 thinking
that it could completely replace every situation where I used to
carry the LCP. Like you, I came to the conclusion that there were
still cirumstances where a 380 made life easier. So I bought a Kahr P380.

The P380 is on a completely different level both in price and function
than the LCP. Having real sights makes a huge difference and operation
like a full size auto (ie, slide locks back, etc) helps keep your
training consistent from the PM to the P380. They are pricey little suckers
and ironically need more pampering than the LCP. But once you have it
tweaked it's just in a different class altogether.

everyone says the seecamp is rugged and reliable. the quality seems to be there and they have a nice trigger pull. plus you cant beat the size if you are looking for true pocket gun. here is a link to some overlay pics of the seecamp vs the ruger and some other competition http://www.seecamp.com/overlays.htm
