came back from the range with the CW45, tore it down to clean and lube. I noticed that on the rear frame polymer slides, there was some scuffing and on the underside very thin short pieces had peeled. maybe a 1/4 " long. still runs great. Curious if this is normal. These were very small pieces. Looked like a couple pieces like finely shredded cheese. I took them off. Slides were still smooth no other apparent damage.

Sounds like the slide and frame just mating up. I'd do what your doing and just clean up the little slivers with an exacto knife. Even if you do nothing at all it will stop given time.

Some get chewed up pretty good for awhile. The polymer really doesn't do anything but it's not pretty cosmetically.

Keep shooting.

What he said. It comes off very easily with a single edge razor blade as well. If you keep it cleaned up during the break-in period it shouldn't cause any functioning problems.

It's past the break in, first time I noticed this. Have either of you tried using white lithium grease to lube. Was reading on another gun forum that this is far superior to hoppes, or other lubes. It does stay where you put it.
