I know this is a Kahr forum but "My name is Terry and I'm addicted to 1911s" I have had a hankerin' for a lightweight 9mm for a few years but I haven't found one that made me jump until this one showed up. It is a Dan Wesson ECO in 9mm it weigh 25 oz. and this little beauty is SMOOTH. The trigger is typical D.W. and breaks at 4 1/2 pounds and I would not want it any lighter for a CCW. I shot 250 plus rounds the other day and to say I'm pleased is an understatement. I plan on putting another three or four hundred round through it before it gets rotated into a CCW piece.

Beautiful gun and you need not seek any forgiveness from thee. I'm a devout 1911 and Dan Wesson guy myself.

I don't have a lot of use for 9mm but there's a place for it in the over all scheme of things.

Dan Wesson make a really fine gun and I suspect you paid dearly for that but that's not a bad thing.

Say 5 Hail Mary's and 5 Our Fathers, god loves you and forgives you.

Wish you was closer, I'd love to hold that thing, bet it's beyond awesome.

I understand what you mean about the 9mm as I have always been a 45 type of guy and I have no plans on giving them up. In fact this same gun comes in 45 acp as well, who knows the big brother may be a future quest;)
About 7 years ago I found a Colt lightweight commander in 9mm and bought it but when I took it out to try it out it went full auto so I returned it to the shop and they refunded my money and said they didn't want to deal with the repairs because it was a consignment gun. I have been wanting a 9mm 1911 ever since. Fast forward to last week ,I called the dealer that I bought my C-Bob from and asked about the ECO. He hadn't seen one either so he ordered one so I could check it out. As soon as I laid my hands on it I knew I was in trouble. I had been looking at a Kimber Aegis Ultra but my shooting buddy bought that one. I have shot both pistols side by side and I am really glad that I passed on the Kimber, it's not a bad pistol by any means but the DW is much smoother and not ammo sensitive at all.
If you ever get out to Western Az. let me know and we can burn up some powder and use up some lead:amflag:.

Thanks, I was very impressed considering how tightly this pistol is fit, I was expecting a few problems during break in but in over 250 rounds there was only 1 FTRB at round number 87 and a couple drops of oil on the slide and barrel took care of the issue. I was shooting 125 gr.FMJ and a variety of lead reloads that consisted of 105 grain SWC and 125 gr.TC without another bobble at all . I will run another 300 or 400 rounds through it before I start to use it for a CCW piece. The trigger breaks a 4 1/2 pounds and the straight 8 night sights are yellow in the rear and green up front. It came with 2 metalform mags that functioned perfectly as well.

Thanks, The 10 Hail Mary's are done but the 100 Our fathers is gonna cut into my gun porn time I already lost count after about 30:angel:. That holster is a very well worn Ross leather IWB that I have used for 25 years and it has had a bunch of different 1911's in it. The mag pouch I made to fit the slimmer 9mm mags.

That's really good news. As I'm sure you know, the reliability of these guns was heavily criticized in the early production run. Your experience suggests that these issues have been addressed--and hopefully resolved permanently.

All the best!

If any of you are wondering what to get me for Christmas, this will fit the bill.....

DW Razorback 10MM

Nice purchase SG. Every DW 1911 I've ever handled was "tightly fit". To my eye they are very well made for production 1911s. I've come close to purchasing one several times. I know that one of these days I won't be able to suppress the voices in my head.

I'd return that 9mm.

They forgot to put a barrel bushing in place.

You have to get the premium version to get the barrel bushing.

Probably still good for 3 or 400 rounds before it's worn out.

Funny thing Glockrocker, that's exactly what I had down for you on my Christmas list. Is that absolutely amazing or what?

What are the odds.

I kind of blew it on my Cbob. First one I saw was at a gun show and it was only like 750 bucks. It was used but perfect and I wanted it but of course didn't have 750 bucks.

I was gonna make it happen the next month but somebody wisely bought it. It was right about that time they came out with the Vbob which was twice the money but many said not as good.

Well that created an emergency on my part. So the search was on. I found one in North Carolina but the Vbob drove the price of the Cbob up double nearly over night. I paid for my sins of leaving that first one on the table.

But I do love mine, worth every penny in my book but would of been even nicer at half the cost too. Go figure.

Dear Bawanna Claus,
Thanks so much for putting that DW 10MM on your Christmas list. I know that a 1911 in any any caliber other than .45 ACP is considered blasphemy by many, but I've recently started a love affair with the 10MM and would really like a 10MM 1911 for a companion to my G20. I've been really, really good this year (kept my Kahrs cleaned, lubed, and well fed, and haven't started any major arguments on the forum), so if you could see your way to include a set of those Bawanna custom grips and maybe some ammo, that would be great!
Thanks
GR

What's wrong with an Springfield Armory EMP for about $600 less? I know, it ain't a Dan Wesson.

Your just like my wife, more, more, more.

I will have to upgrade my list, I had you down for a 45 but I can easily change that to 10MM. No worries.

Grips, not a problem. Saber Tooth tiger thigh bone too flashy?

And ammo, I'll see what I can do about the ammo thing.

Nuthin' wrong with the basic Remington R1 1911 .45 - especially for $529 and a $75 cash rebate:

Hey muggsy, I had a EMP 9mm for 4 plus years and it is a good pistol. My complaints with it was too many sharp edges on the slide , and I do not like ambi safetys , and I realized that I prefer the officer sized grip frame more than the EMP's size which is it's own critter altogether. And the biggest reason is I really like my Dan Wesson's :biggrin1:

Bawanna

Yeah and bawanna don't know nobody with the EMP size so grips for that ain't happening.

Officer size no problemo although certainly not needed on this one, already gorgeous.
